Cliff View Bar — Restaurant in Houghton Township

We came up from metro Detroit, got married in munising and honeymooned at the lake in the clouds and got really wet after roughing it we headed to copper harbor and it was getting late and we wanted a warm room to stay in... $100+ in copper harbor for a room. we make our way down the road and walk into an inn/bar and same deal but the bartender said hey marjie, do you have a room? And she said yes I do! You gotta love small towns! The owner of the cliff view inn was down the road at another inn/bar and was so nice to offer us a room almost half of what you get anywhere else in the area, we just wanted a shower and warm bed but they had a grill we could use and a complete kitchen inside the insanely cute 2 bedroom cabin that looks up to an incredible rock face across the road They have a bar here and food as well or you can cook and clean up just like at home, marjie and brad have been so nice and this will be our destination next year for our first anniversary, so much...

10/10 Way better than expected. I was expecting a UTV/snowmobile stop and boy was I surprised. It’s a cocktail bar! Now owned by the owner of Fitzgeralds in eaglewhatever. The physical bar is super cool, best one in the UP, you’ll have to see it yourself! Re-opened in Feb 2025, I love what they are doing. On a personal note, and this may not go for everyone….. a cocktail bar with Busch light on tap and frozen Manhattans LFG!!! (Some) made to order cocktails and a specialty cocktail menu, serving mustard and giardinara or Chicago style footlong hotdogs....

Stopped for a beer. No taps but a decent selection of cans and bottles. Very limited menu. They do not take credit cards and the ATM was not working when we stopped so we only enough cash for one round. Nice view of the Cliff mine area across the road. There's a nice front porch to enjoy your beers on...if you bring enough cash. The bartender did say they take cheques, I had a hard time remembering what "cheque" was or how they used to work. No internet service, at least for AT&T. It's like hole in time, kind of nice really, I'll be sure to bring more...
