Hard to beat Barista's Coffee House when visiting Houston, MN. Co-owners Chelsey Vix and Marissa Bailey just celebrated two years of ownership, are very friendly and brew great coffee and espresso drinks in a super cozy atmosphere. Barista's also offers tasty sandwiches, soups and other treats. Loved the recommended Denver Panini with a piping hot latte. Lively atmosphere with many repeat customers too. Drive-thru also available. Thank you, Chelsey, Marissa and crew. Until next time!

Pros: cute, friendly, clean, fast, good variety for non-coffee drinkers, clearly popular place for locals Cons: espresso is not good (both the bean and the brew were a problem), mocha is made from powder mix (you can see the remnants in the bottom of my cup), they don't know traditional coffee house beverages (breves, miels, macchiatos, etc.) Neutral: Cash only - no ATM on site

I stopped for coffee. The coffee was very good, and the prices were fair. The service was also excellent. What I really liked the most, was the atmosphere and the friendliness of all the patrons. It is clear that there are a lot of returning customers. From what I could tell, the food was really good and the prices are fair. The indoor and outdoor seating is very comfortable.

Edited to update: Still going here and love it! We also appreciate the fact that the kids can get a simple peanut butter and jelly here. And they have kombucha and Spring Grove pop here. :)

Previous review: We've been here a handful of times and are never disappointed. Eclectic, artsy setting that revolves around owls and is relaxing. Nice and cool inside during the hot summer! The patio is beautiful and wraps around the back. Coffee is good, sandwiches have been good. We are vegan and like their sandwich, also have a salad. I know that doesn't sound like much but in small towns you don't always have many options! Milk substitutes available. Not the fastest service but there's only a few of them that are doing everything from taking orders to making food and drinks. Always served...

Menu had "deli" sandwiches and were offered as a half or whole. Call me old school. I think of half a deli sandwich, I think it's going to be about 6 inches of Italian or French bread. You know what they say about assuming. A half of a turkey with cheddar was $4+, a whole was $7+, reinforcing my assumption. What I got was 1 slice of whole grain bread, cut in half, 1 slice of turkey, a slice of mild cheddar, plenty of different greens and tomato. So yes, I got half a sandwich. Others I was with had panini sandwiches that were double the size I had. Had it been a normal half a deli sandwich it would have been thin but it probably would have made a dent in my hunger. Think of a sandwich made on 1 slice of white bread. That sure is not much....

This is a small town quaint coffee house/ lunch cafe. The service was very good, a friendly staff. The food fare is your "typical" coffee/cafe food. Lunch sandwiches, soups, etc. The menu is substantial, and should accommodate most tastes. There is a small selection of either pies, or ice cream to choose from for deserts. The deserts are very good. There is a limited selection of choices for these deserts. An outdoor seating area is present, the atmosphere is eclectic. I would recommend this...
