Real Deal — Restaurant in Houston

I used to be thoroughly pleased. As of late, they no longer accept call in orders because someone else plays a large order and did not come to pick it up. While I understand the restaurant being in business and having to do what they had to do because they lost money from that transaction, I do not agree with making everyone else pay for one person. So now if I want to order there I have to leave home extra early or I'll be late to the office and place an order in person and wait for it. I've tried to call them several times by phone and they refuse to answer the phone. My dilemma now is if I order a salad, I get to the office and find out that I don't have any dressing for the salad. I order fish and shrimp and don't have any tartar sauce unless I asked for it. When you place your restaurant in a particular area of town I'm sure that you are used to dealing with a particular type of people, and the business owners like myself we get treated the same way regardless of who we are and our standards. I am a huge fan of local, neighborhood staples so I’m a bit torn writing this review. Real Deal is outdated, to say the very least. I literally breathe out of my mouth anytime I walk in the establishment just because of how it looks on the inside and the outside. It looks like it stinks. It is definitely NOT a welcoming environment. The best thing there is the koolaid and the banana snow cone.

The “boudin” does not taste like boudin and doesn’t have the consistency of normal boudin. The wings are bland and tasteless. The hamburgers are NOT made from pure ground beef ; taste more like frozen patties. The service is extremely slow. The prices don’t match the environment nor the mediocrity of the meals. A major makeover in its entirety is required for this to even be a competitor in any sector.

I've been asleep on this place for 6 years. I went there a week ago. In which time I went back four times 3 times by myself and got the same thing yet each time I've been charged a different price for the same thing. I get the rice with no cheese and two pieces of fish. The first was $9:35 second $11:35 third $13:00. And because this reason I did not go this Friday or Saturday. Cuz I ain't got time for drama and I would tell them about it yet when ordering they seem lost unto what I want. I'm trying to eat and only one time did they give me a whole container of rice with two pieces of fish. And was charged 11:35. I don't care about the price just pick a price and every day I'm in town I will come in and get some boudin with rice and two pieces of fish with no cheese.
