I kind of struggle between giving this four or five stars, for one reason only - the pricing at first made me feel a little bit of sticker shock. After thinking it through though, I think that’s less about what I got than about what I expected to get. I think with the way the menu and the pricing is laid out, it could possibly be easy to get the wrong impression of how things are going to add up. But that’s the only negative I could really come up with. The food was fantastic. I mean, it wasn’t complicated – it was sausage and eggs – but if anybody thinks you can’t mess up something like that, let me assure you, you most certainly can. The sausage was flavorful and fresh, and he eggs were perfect, the sourdough toast, was outstanding. As for the ambience – I loved it. It’s not a big place - don’t even think about bringing your party of 50 over there - but it’s quaint, and homey, a little quirky, and eclectic. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and aside from the fact that they don’t like Apple devices, I couldn’t really find anything to complain about! I spend a good bit of time in this area, and I expect this isn’t the last time I’ll stop by to see what the Kitchen Witch has stewing in her cauldron.

If you are traveling through Howard, PA or visiting Bald Eagle State Park this is a MUST M U S T visit place. On my first visit I ordered the steak breakfast. When asked how I wanted the steak I answered with a confident, "rare." As soon as I uttered the word I heard a, "YES," from the kitchen. I believe that confirmed I had made the right choice. The food was cooked with quality ingredients and, most importantly, with lots of love and care. The steak was perfect. The eggs were masterfully cooked over easy. The butter was real... the home fries were delicious. My wife ordered grits two consecutive days. Yep. It was that good... according to her... I hate grits so I'll take her word for it. She's never liked grits from anyone but her grandmother. I will be visiting Bald Eagle SP again but not because it is a destination I want to revisit but because Kitchen Witch is worth the the hour drive and the park is a great place to burn off the calories consumed. Kurt and Donna, I hope I remembered correctly, thank you for the excellent food and great hospitality.

This was a wonderful establishment with very kind and considerate people who don't judge!!!! Me and a group of buddys where on our way to a convention in Pittsburgh from New York, and decided to stop here for lunch and it was an amazing idea!!! I have a dairy allergy and they went above and beyond to make sure my allergy was taken seriously!!! If you are passing through the area I 100% recommend stopping in and getting some food!!!!

They seemed to do everything halfway. They were very friendly but not super professional. This is totally understandable as it is a little Mom&pop shop but to not allow things like card processing is pretty ridiculous. They had what would've been a good menu but you would never know because it was typed in some sort of Excel doc and without any indication of what things like "breakfast sandwich" entail. Had OJ which was cool but only offered Pepsi, Starry, and one other second-rate soda to choose from. Undoubtedly a worthwhile place to go to as my friends wouldn't shut up about how good it was but maybe just once if you are looking to drop $15 like I did. But maybe I'm too stingy, I'll let you be the...
