I booked this location because of the website. It looked really cute, clean and well cared for. The plus was it was overlooking the Devil's Tower. So I thought what a great little site to stay at with our tent. We reserved two nights in this park. Originally I booked a tent site that had no electric as I don't believe their tent sites have any electric. When we arrived they had availability on a RV site with electric so we chose that. It was an upgrade in price and we went from $35 a night to $50 per night for our stay. When I checked in I thought it was odd because the person checking me in wasn't sure if I had already paid or not and I was asked the same question whenever I had called in to reserve the site. Luckily I'm an honest person and I told them I had not paid so I paid for my stay when I checked in. I did not have to pay when I registered. I thought that was a nice feature. But I was just concerned that nobody seemed to know what the check-in process was. I was given a view on the back of a binder that somebody had hand-drawn, showing the park and they told me where my site was. I have never seen this park or the layout before so I just winged it and I went to my site. It's not that hard though because there's 10 to 15 sites max. There were a few campers here when we arrived our first night but the park was not full. We arrived close to 5:00 and got everything set up on our site and began relaxing for the evening. It wasn't until we were headed to bed around 8:30 that we realized we had no electric at this site. It took close to 1 hour for them to come over and check our electric box and determine that it was fried and we were not going to have electric at our specific site. The gentleman that came to check on our utility box was nice and offered us a longer extension cord if we needed it. He also told my husband that they would have power restored to our site by later in the afternoon on the next day of our stay. That's false. I also was not very thrilled with the situation in the bath house. The garbage was darn near full when we got here and the toilet on the left hand side when you walk in had looked gross like they haven't cleaned it for a while. There was hair in the drains along with other remnants in the shower. Cobwebs and dust on walls and vents. Not a very clean feeling when you walk in after a long day on the road. It gets the job done but it was definitely a letdown for me. When I booked this site I went by the website. They have information/pictures on their website and I guess they just figure you will use that information after you check in because there's little information given to you when you arrive. However it's very misleading because the pictures are not at all like the campground itself. The bath house status hasn't changed since we checked in. It's been over 24 hours now. I have heard a few times about how busy the ladies are that work in this park which I believe there are two that I have met. However it's not a very busy park as you can see it's completely empty on the campground side. And there's only a handful of cars that are in the either of the store or the restaurant currently. Looking back at this reservation and knowing what I paid for the site now versus where I could have stayed. I would choose staying at the KOA holiday that is literally right at the foot of the devil's Tower just outside of the National Park. For the same price to tent camp with electricity (actually less if you are a KOA reward member). It's a no brained now, knowing what I do from comparing the two personally while here. There's very little shade in this park as well so if you're not good with sunshine and a lot of it you may not want to stay here. There's also a highway that runs right alongside this and you hear traffic coming and going all day and night. Although the staff was friendly and easy to reach whenever I needed something. The delays after reaching out were not convenient. It's not a bad park if you want to be away from the crowd. Just don't expect it to be a very clean park.

I camped here with my girlfriend for a night on the night of Aug. 9th 2023. Amazing location and service, very near to Devils Tower N.M. However, on the morning of the 10th I woke up with chest/back pain, I had to pack up quick and drive myself to the nearest ER which was Crook County Hospital in Sundance, Wyoming (My gf didn’t have a license yet).I left my tent because I had so much pain and didn’t have time to grab it. Upon arrival they told me my lung had collapsed. I spent the next 3 days or so in the hospital recovering from emergency surgery far away from home, which resulted in a chest tube being placed in my left lung. Long story short, this is an amazing campground and we received great service, they obviously had nothing to do with my lung collapsing, it was just a random event that could’ve happened anywhere. My experience here is one I’ll never forget for my entire life. That morning I didn’t get to visit devils tower up close but I’ll be coming back one day for sure. I thank God because choosing this campground allowed me to be somewhat close to a town with a well equipped ER which saved my life. I sometimes think about what would have happened had I chose a campground even 20 minutes further away. I left my tent there and I didn’t ever get around to informing them of why exactly I left it until now. Hopefully they understand, I always follow leave no trace and I feel bad for leaving the tent but the circumstance was urgent. I can’t wait to come back and stay again and actually visit devils tower up close. This place will be cherished to me forever, the whole experience brought me closer to God and the reality that we don’t live forever. Thank you for running such a great campground and being a part of my life story.

I've traveled cross country multiple times, and this is one of the best campgrounds/RV parks I've stayed in. It is a small business, so don't expect it to be like KOA. But it comes with SO much charm, wonderful hosts, a fantastic cafe, and a wonderful view of Devil's Tower to wake up to. Booking: Booking is very easy even last minute, and Sarah and Daryl were extremely accommodating. My husband was shooting the ATLAS comet that night and it was wonderful to have a campsite to return to after midnight. Facilities: The bathhouse, with two rooms, was exceptionally clean. Each room had its own toilet, sink, and shower, and a warm wooden cabin interior. Shower water was hot with good pressure. Although shared with other guests, we never had to wait. The on site cafe was also wonderful! Sarah made me a bison burger for breakfast (I was craving one). It was so good I inhaled it in minutes. My husband also raved about his pancake and bacon breakfast. There's a lovely gift shop attached to the cafe to browse for local goods while waiting for your food. Location: Less than 2 miles from Devil's Tower. It was a great base camp to explore the monument and nearby towns. The hosts: Above all, the hosts were so welcoming and kind. Sarah was easily reachable by text. We asked to change our campsite for the second night for better sunrise photography and right away she said no problem! This campsite and cafe is a gem. If you're in the area go visit -- if not for staying the night, at least go for the bison burger and great conversation with the hosts.
