My two favorite things: pizza and wine! My husband, kids, and I have visited Bloom three times now. The first time was a spectacular visit. The waitresses were so helpful and even allowed us to try some samples of the muscadine juice and the slushy. We got 2 large pizzas for our family and my husband is now obsessed with the pizza. It's delicious and you actually feel GOOD after eating it, even if its 4-5 slices. That's how you know they use quality ingredients.
I really enjoyed my wine and the price is stellar on that. The price for the pizza is also very worth it. They also had a special of vanilla gelato there which was amazing as well. I would love to see more of that and other dessert options. After our first visit we've done a pickup order of pizza and tonight I brought my parents to enjoy as well. They are hard to please when it comes to food but they had wonderful things to say about their pizzas as well. And as always, we had wonderful service. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I love seeing business owners at their own establishments.
Thank you to Eric and his family for bringing a much needed place to...
Read moreWe tried the new restaurant in Brownsboro this evening. We chose the option to sit outside, and a table was not actually ready or space conducive to have us at that moment. We did manage to squeeze into chairs in the designated space and table. Several people visited our table which left us with a feeling of great disconnection, and it was reported to us that they do not have sections or tables assigned to them and they just "hop" around. When we did go to order, the person taking our order told us that they just ran out of gluten free a "few minutes ago". As there is little on the menu, I ordered a salad which came without croutons and cheese. We were without water until the end when it came to pay and another person asked if we needed anything else. We did receive water, paid, and I asked if I could get a voucher or certificate to come back to have the gluten free pizza. I was told "no" and that they were out of "gluten free yesterday" but that I could come back tomorrow when they should have some more gluten free dough. This was all an extremely disappointing experience. We will not return mainly due to poor...
Read moreMake no mistake, this is a winery, not a pizza joint. They have a friendly, attentive staff, but the menu is a little sparse. An echoey, spartan ambiance with hard picnic style booths and tables encourage you to finish and leave. The pizza crust is tasty and it really is wood-fired. Unfortunately, the toppings are a little skimpy. There is a 2 to 3 inch margin between the edge of the crust and the beginning of the toppings as you work your way toward the middle of the pie. This should not be. We had the omnivore pizza with plenty of vegetables, but only one or two rounds of pepperoni per slice and scant sausage. The sausage parts were thin and no bigger than a fingernail in diameter. In fact, the quasi-vegetarian that I was sharing the pizza with was able to eat her slices without taking off any meat toppings. You may come for the libations, but you will not stay...
