First I’ll say that their catfish fillet is awesome. After waiting 15 min just to place my order. It went downhill from there. Order 1 catfish plate and a fried pork chop plate. Sign says to allow 15-20 min. There is no where to sit and wait so I placed my order and went to my car. Waited 18 minutes and went back inside. Stood another 10 minutes before asking whats the status. The lady tells me that they have online orders too and only one space to fry fish. Ok but I’ve waited the time and now I’m standing….in heels. Another 5 minutes and someone in the back tells her it will be 8 minutes. Ok so now we’re over 30 minutes since I placed the order. Eventually I asked if I can get a refund and leave. The lady told me that only a manager can do it and no one is there to do it. How awful is that type service!! I refuse to believe that no one in the restaurant can fix register issues. So I had to either wait or leave without food. I considered just leaving and disputing the charge with me cc company but wanted to be fair. Finally get it and check my plates in the car. The attached pictures show how over cooked and old that pork chop is. Absolutely no way I waited 40 minutes just to get this. Wasnt even hot or fresh. To make things worse, I get home to realize that I have cranberry sauce but they forgot to put the darn dressing on the plate!!! Candied yams looks like running mushed potatoes. Nope, I can’t condone this type service or recommend anyone to patronize them. Just having someone to try to follow up with me would have made this better; instead of having to keep asking as if she didnt see me there. They were not busy. A chair or two for those waiting would also be nice. How about opening each plate in front of the customer to allow them to inspect so that issues can be handled before they leave. I live 30 minutes away so I was not returning. Money wasted. By the way, at no point was I rude or disrespectful and...
Read moreMy aunt & I stopped in a little after lunch.yesterday (it was to late to say lunch time but to early to be considered dinner time) She ordered 2 piece of fried chicken, yams, pinto beans, cornbread, carrot cake for dessert. I had the pig feet, collard greens, yams, cornbread & blackberry cobbler. We both order a Mt. Dew drink & must say the Mt. Dew was the only good thing we had. Our order was $40 & some change. The chicken was okay at best. Everything else had absolutely NO seasoning, No flavor. Damn shame bc I was so looking forward to some good home cooked, soul food while I was in town. Boy was I disappointed! The collards green taste like they were boiled in plain water & nothing else. The cornbread was cold & dry. The carrot cake was stale. Blackberry cobbler was a bitter mush. They were very Unorganized & 1 gentlemen came from the back of the establishment fixed himself a little boil of neckbones (the last of the neckbones too) & walked to back. We was told we could dine in BUT we had to take the food outside, walk round the back of the building, into this little hold in the wall bar/club & seat ourself. No one acknowledged us as we walked in or out. The only reason I gave this establishment one star is because there wasn't a half star. After all that we left still hungry (they do give decent size portions). And if all this wasn't bad enough, the little bit of food we ate ended up upsetting our stomach. I WOULDN'T recommend this place to my family & friends. And I definitely WILL...
Read moreI ordered the lemon pepper chicken. It was cooked all the way but tasted like vinegar. We got the dressing, which tasted pretty good but the lady forgot to give us cranberry sauce and there were tons of bones in thr dressing.
My daughter ate all of her mashed potatoes, so I guess they were good.
The cabbage and cornbread were alright.
I ordered catfish, so I had to wait for that to be made. Waited about 30 minutes with my daughter. There is outside seating to the side of the restaurant. There were a few tables and corn hole. While waiting I ate some of my daughter's food. About 25 minutes later I got a stomach ache. I went to check the status of my fish and right when I walked in, one of the workers was bringing it to me. I was relieved because I was ready to go.
I checked my food in the car. It had everything I ordered, which was whole cat fish, collard greens, Mac and cheese, yams, and a roll. I tried some of the Mac and cheese and was immediately disgusted. It had a very foul and pungent taste to it.
The catfish tasted fine. The greens had a weird after taste, too. Almost like they were cooked in dirty water.
The sweet potatoes looked mushy, and at this point, I was not interested in trying them.
The only thing I liked was the catfish, and my daughter liked the mashed potatoes.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend...
