A wonderful golf complex and restaurant. Family owned 2 18 hole courses a great driving range and pro shop. Along with a wonderful newly redesigned restaurant at the North Coast. The North course is a classic parkland course with many mature trees and a very hilly terrain with a creek or two that are intricately woven into the course layout. The south course is a newer design with trees still growing in and wide generous landing areas and great green complexes. And I have to say it seems like whoever designed the South Course and the North were very adept at using the natural features of the course to define the holes. There are many decisions that have to be made off the tea whether or not to try and attempt to cross a creek or stay short of it but face a longer shot and there are lots of holes where the landing area can't be seen from the t and local knowledge and previous play there comes in very handy. All in all if you're ever in this part of the country Northeast Ohio say you're visiting cedar point and you're a golfer or your local and just want to play a different type of course I recommend...
Read moreMy mom loves your restaurant, so we thought we would give it a try. I didn’t realize reservations were recommended, that was my fault. Our son and daughter in law arrived first and went in to put our name in for a table of 6. They were treated very rudely by the three ladies standing at the hostess station, apparently because we hadn’t made a reservation and likely because they were in tee shirts? First they were told it would be a 45 minute wait, then the wait suddenly became nearly 2 hours. We had nearly arrived when my son called us, quite upset (my daughter in law was in tears), due to being looked up and down with obvious distaste and treated like they were trash. This is unacceptable behavior! We went to another Huron restaurant instead, and had a wonderful meal with FRIENDLY service. I will definitely let my mother, and all of her friends who frequent your restaurant, know of the terrible treatment her grandkids received from your staff. My guess is that those three ladies just cost you a good bit...
Read moreI have been a member here for many years and apparently this year they are changing the name to Thunderbird Hayfields. Golf three times this week and yet to see one mower and rough has seeds on top. Have spent a lot of time looking for balls that should not be that hard to find just off the fairway. On plus side greens in great shape, fairways are decent but rough is just attrocious. New person running the course this year and if this continues I may look elsewhere for a membership next year.
Update: Thank you for responding to original concerns. I waited to see how this year played out in regards to updating my review and for the most part the rough has been managed much better than it was at the beginning of the year. This has been a great place to play over the years providing some challenging holes along with some easier holes for the amateur golfer. Along with many mature trees to provide great scenery. Hope for many more years of good conditions...
