All I can say is AMAZING! We had heard from friends how great the food is at Applewood BBQ. We drove to Penfield just to try them out and it was well worth the trip. Applewood BBQ is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Inside the dining area is clean and roomy. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful in ordering. The food is simply amazing and the portion sizes are huge! It was also very nice to see the owner making her rounds to assure that everyone was happy. Make sure you try the BBQ sauce and they make it there. We purchased a bottle to take home!

Had the platter with ribs with a side of onion rings, plus side of fries. Chicken quarter was the best of the meats. Pulled pork and ribs were pretty good, but brisket was a bit dry. The major letdown was the super oily, soggy, and undercooked fries and the onion rings with strong taste due to old cooking oil. At least the onion rings were crispy, but still a bit greasy probably due to not being cooked in hot enough oil. The BBQ sauce provided was a bit spicy, which was unexpected for a house BBQ sauce. Got takeout, but it didn't come with utensils or napkins.

If you're hungry, go to Applewood and you won't be! The portions are huge. The cost is average. And the food is great. We've been here a couple of times. It's worth the drive. We had a $10 appetizer as well and our bill for appetizer, three entrees and unlimited drinks was only $58.00 It was so much food we had to take some home! Great value for the money.

Not good....3 of us went to Apple Wood Bbq in Penfield on a Sunday & the food was terrible. So bad!!! Idk how this place has so many good reviews. We spent alot of $ to try alot of things. Ribs and brisket was cold and super dry. Kids chicken tender meal was over cooked. Lemonade was not good. The only thing I liked was the side salad. It was fresh, crisp & tasty. I would like $70 or gift certificate back & told when a good day to come back for delicious food like the reviews talk about. I was so excited for a BBQ dinner near by but after that experience I would not recommend going here. I highly recommend going out of town to Smokey Bones. Their ribs, mac & cheese and apple side is to die for! Or go to Ridgway to The Royal Inn. Their...

The BBQ here is heavenly. Bite into the brisket, pork, or smoked sausage and you'll hear the highest choir of angels singing hymns...well, you'll really be glad that you are here. The good is VERY GOOD! The sides are generous and full of good ol' stick-to-dem-ribs goodness. I highly recommend this place. It is the best food in Bennett's Valley and is a slam dunk for couples, families, and road weary folk from far away places like Pittsburgh and Philly. The staff are friendly and will make you feel welcome. Your money goes a long way here and you get great BBQ in return. The brisket here is the solution for world strife. We stopped Saturday on our way to see the Elk. I had called the day before to check on the outdoor seating because we ride with our dog and was told we could order to go and sit out back because they didn't have enough staff for outdoor service, no problem for us. We got there ordered and sat outside, next thing you know the woman that took our order, wish I had her name to mention, came out and wiped the table, brought condiments and brought all our food.
