Hard Times Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Iberia

100% PERFECT! I met my mom here because its half way for us, and I never new about it until last week. I loved it so much, that I literally talked about it to everyone all weekend. The place is adorable, very clean and cute! It has an large outdoor seating area that is a must for us that love the outside. There is the main area, with a large enough bar, and plenty of hightops and tables.. then there is a separate area with more tables, a fireplace and a TV. The place is very clean, well decorated and just perfect. I have lived in the area my whole life, and never knew that Iberia had something like this to offer. ( They have been there for 5 years I found out). The menu is amazing, with tons of options, and I felt like I was back in time because the prices were soooooooo low. Great appetizer selection too. Draft beer is $3.50 I think, in case any beer drinkers are curious... compared to Applebee's type places that they are $6-7. I had the hand breaded tenderloin and chose to get mine on texas toast, and the beer battered onion rings.. AMAZING! And food quantity is large. My mother had the grilled chicken sandwich, (on texas toast as well) and she raved about it. She got fries, and there was a huge pile. Our server was Angelica, and she was quite the little angel. She was super sweet and that made it even all the better! Ladies bathroom was adorable and smelled amazing. All over, this place won my love and I am pretty sure my mother and I will be meeting way more often. I would give it 20 stars if I could! And if you try it, make sure you ask for Angelica! Hit or miss. Half the time the food is great. But I've been served undercooked food a few times over. I've gotten a pink ranger burger then I've gotten raw fried shrimp. I would feel better if they took more time cooking the food to ensure quality over rush. The service is top notch. Bartenders are helpful. I'm slightly remiss about the smaller selection of alcoholic beverage choices. They don't serve any Mexican beer. Would it hurt to have a Modelo? I feel like I go here enough and spend enough money to be able to have atleast one choice beer. If they carried the drink I prefer I would definitely be in more often. Overall it's a nice hangout place, good vibes, and I do enjoy going there. Friendly service. Just need a longer cooking time for food. And maybe if I had a choice beverage I'd be more frequent.

Update: drunk bartender shitty servers, I asked for a flippn lime for my beer and the bartender berated me in front of everyone. How dare you ask for a basic service! The server let out food sit cold for 10-15 mins while she was busy counting her tips. Couldn't even put an order in right. Worst...

Had a night out with some of my friends and was having an excellent night. Cheap beer, nice outdoor patio. We were the only one’s outside until a gentleman introduced himself and claimed to be the owners’ son (I won’t use his name). He then began being very hostile with us, claiming we were underage, calling my friend a foreigner due to his tan complexion, and also saying slurs towards us. We are all either 21-22 so we do look young but we were carded upon entry. He made his way inside then came outside with his friend to which we were warned by our server that our night was about to be ruined. So we finished our drinks and decided to leave to avoid conflict but as we left, we were told by the man to not come back. We asked why and he began getting hostile once again and was clearly looking for a fight. The staff, atmosphere, and drinks were excellent, but this man should not be allowed into the establishment as he is ruining the business for his parents....
