The rudest owners I have ever encountered. Stopped to buy a drink and use the facilities with two young children who needed to pee. There were several vehicles parked outside, so we assumed they were open. Tried both doors and found them locked. Went to use the ditch in the woods and was approached by three people from inside, screaming and freaking out that we cannot go into the woods. One recommended my 10 year old cross the highway on foot to pee on county land instead of ā€œtheir propertyā€. The two women screamed at my husband and threatened to call police. Not once did they offer to let our 10 and 4 year old use their bathroom. They suggested we put the kids back in the car and make them wait another 15-20 minutes til we got to Golden to allow them to pee. Honestly, a little bit of grace would go a long way. I understand people not wanting people to pee on their property, however, with kids, it’s difficult to tell them to not pee when they need to go, especially a 4 year old. These people traumatized my kids by screaming at us, even through the window and telling my husband to ā€œGET BACK IN THE CARā€ when he got out to go retrieve my child. They were very intimidatingly surrounding our car, yelling and ā€œcalling the copsā€. This must be something they deal with regularly, and it seems like they could approach a family with three young children a little more maturely. My husband is a very calm, even tempered person. Another man would have punched the daylights out of the guy who was getting in our face, surrounding our car and screaming at our kids. It was insanely immature, ridiculously rude and a poor example of how to conduct a customer service operation. When this place was called Kermits, for many years, I found the owners super kind and the service very good. I would never ask to use the restroom somewhere without purchasing something, but as far as peeing in the woods in a remote location, I think it’s still a free...

Terrible experience. Very homey atmosphere with the staff being the polar opposite. Originally I went in needing to use the restroom and was immediately informed that they had no public restrooms. Fine no problem. My friends and I decided we would have a seat at a table and get some beers and dinner. Our server had an attitude from the get go and hardly gave us the time of day as if she was so busy with three tables she had to tend to. When we flagged her down to order she rolled her eyes. She never asked if we needed more drinks when our drinks were empty and eventually we had to get up and ask what was assumed to be the owner and his wife for another drink.. our food was brought about by what looked to be a 10 year old girl who was very nice but not too sure how legal that is? That being said she was probably at our table longer than our actual server was. As to be expected we did not leave a very large tip, considering we didnt really receive service worthy of a good tip. A tip is not something you just get it's something you earn. When we left we were immediately chased down by our server, if you could even call her that, and cussed at. We were told never to return because we came in only wanting to take a piss and then left a small tip. Ok, so she's mad because what she said we have to spend money to use the restroom so we did? Unbelievable. After she finished throwing a fit like a a teenager the owner came out after her yelling at us and cussing at us as well acting as if we cannot afford the car we were driving. Totally unprofessional and immature reaction from the entire staff. They definitely dont need to worry about us coming back for sub par food...

Had a very horrible experience here. I-70 was backed up, when my 6 y/o daughter needed to badly use the restroom. We pull in to this place, walk in, and I tell my daughter to go ahead and go potty. I see the signs saying "restroom for customers only", I start looking for something to purchase. The waitress, says I have to purchase something, I said I will, she says "you have to buy something, first" I said I am looking for something to buy, something simple, cheap, and quick. I tell my daughter to go ahead. THEN! The supposed owner comes out and starts the same rhetoric, loudly, and in my face. All the while, my daughter is standing there, about to piss herself, watching this buffoon put on his tough guy routine. I very calmly tell him to get out of my face, he says he's not in my face, I told him he was in my bubble. Thankfully for all of us, he turned and left. I waited for my little girl to come out of the restroom, and we ordered a little meal for her, to make everyone happy. I served, and am trained. If this had happened at a time when my daughter wasn't watching, it would've been a different ending. Unfortunately the ending is worse. My daughter eats the meal, and 15 minutes later, is projectile vomiting in my car!! Hmmmm. Now I'm torn between returning to the buffoon to see if his mouth is gonna keep running. Or, be...

There's a familiarity to this place, you'll miss the place if you're taking this scenic route too fast, it's tucked away in the side of a mountain, and it corners a couple bypasses off the highway, still worth the turnaround.. The bar staff are very well versed, and the food is unique, and delicious. We had the honor of being served by the owner. We were treated like family (the kind of family you "like" having over to visit lol) . I will definitely pop by again if I'm ever in the area...(side note) there is a peculiar pirate flag that flies on the top of the cliff next to the patio area..enticed some questions that I forgot to ask before we continued on our journey. Thanks for the šŸø, Two Bears, this was just the rest stop I needed to carry on, refreshed, awake and most importantly not hungry. Would've loved to have seen a live show on that little stage, but alas, our journey was long, and we had to keep going. Hope to visit again in the future. :) (My photos posted here are in a relevant place, not the place itself. Almost took pictures of the flag, but I'd rather let others discover it on their own journey.) ✌

Genuinely the worst dining experience of my life. We were greeted by the owner yelling at us to move our truck… we do not drive a truck, it was another patron. Bad vibes immediately, should have listened to our gut and walked right out then… then I was yelled at for looking at the back patio ā€œMAM WE ARE NOT SERVING THE PATIO RIGHT NOWā€ Jesus, okay sir… are you alright? Apparently not… he then screamed at another patron and kicked them out, definitely thought it was going to be an active shooter situation between those 2 men… so we quickly paid the check and escaped… didn’t get to eat our food or drink our beers, but still paid $60 to be scared away by an unhinged owner. I can see why they’re selling it… what a disappointment. Fun times!
