Boondocks — Restaurant in Idaho

An acquaintance of mine brought me here one day. I've seen it driving by, but hardly notice cars there so wasn't sure if they were open or just limited hours like many struggling small businesses are. This place is worth the stop, just don't expect an updated or even typical bar atmosphere as its bare bones functional.

This place serves a real decent burger with nice crispy bacon! The thick steak fries are absolutely the bomb! I do look forward to trying other selections. There was a little less than steady flow of a lunch crowd coming and going, mostly locals "in the know". They have a pool table and a couple monitors for sports. Well, if your favorite jeans were a restaurant, it would be Boondox. If you want wonderful, basic, comfort food, with a, non-franchise, local connection, you've found the right place. No need to dress up. Come as you are! My fish and onion rings were cooked to perfection, the fish fillets were crispy outside, and the inside tender and piping hot, the onion rings generously portioned and hot from the fryer as well. Absolutely delicious! I usually say hamburgers are pretty much all the same but the Just A Burger I ordered was juicy, flavorful, and served hot with plenty of steak fries.
