Here's a story for you. One day my family wanted hamburgers. We're from here. A few of us are enemies from across the river but we accept that rivalry makes life interesting; this day happened to be the Burley Minico game and the tension was high. So we decided on Ediths for hamburgers (to go because we were listening to the game on the radio).
The issue came when a Bobcat and a Spartan got in the car to go get the burgers. The Bobcat went crazy as Burley scored a goal and the Spartan decided it would be best to just leave the Bobcat at Ediths instead of having to suffer the hoots and hollers that come along with home team touchdowns.
By the time they reached Ediths restaurant, they were mortal enemies. The Spartan was swearing to disown all of the family from the wrong side of the Snake. The Bobcat was smack talking like crazy. It would go down in history as The Great Divide in my family.
Until they smelled the burgers. That delicious smell of a correctly grilled patty and fresh buttery bun removed any untoward emotion from their beings. Suddenly they were family again about to enjoy the down right tastiness hamburger the state of Idaho has to offer.
Do I believe that the food from Ediths averted a civil war within my family? You bet your buns I...
Read moreWhat a fantastic little find right off the Snake River. We were traveling on our way to Boise when we realized we wouldn't be in time for dinner. So looking at the map we saw Edith BBIT about two exits ahead. The restaurant had a clean and pleasant interior eating area as well as an outside courtyard eating area that looked very peaceful. We ended up being served by three different people and always had someone checking on us or bringing us something we needed. We decided to get creative and ordered patty melts with a side of Thousand Island and made our own Frisco burgers with a side of their homemade fries. The burgers were fantastic and the flavor was incredible. The fries were also perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also got a chocolate shake to top it off with a little Reese's peanut butter cups mixed in. The shake seemed homemade and was also very yummy! All in all we had a great time and some great food at this little restaurant in the middle of Idaho. Thank you guys for a wonderful meal. We will definitely stop back by when we drive...
Read moreThis is a nice restaurant in a great place. The atmosphere is quite enjoyable. They have a unique fish aquarium that adds to the overall ambiance. The menu is quite sparse, and the customization options few. The place would do better adding more options to the list. They need a good swiss burger, perhaps a ranch version, onion rings, shakes, etc. The fries are okay, but it feels like they should be so much better. Maybe the fries need a batter, or better seasoning. When in doubt, just add cheese and bacon! A more imaginative chef could really make this place shine.
Sadly, the service is what lowers the standard here. Perhaps the wait staff is just inexperienced and it will get better with time? They seemed to struggle with basic body language, "reading" the table, and anticipating customer expectations. It is hard being a waiter, so be sure to always tip well when you experience...
