I really really wanted to love this place but unfortunately left upset and feeling like I got scammed. First off food and beer was all pretty good (should probably call the ā€œpork belly burgerā€ a bacon burger but whatever it still tasted great) and had some tasty beers. The place itself also looked beautifully done and has a mini golf course inside which is awesome! The reason I probably won’t come back though is the service. We popped in for a quick bite to eat and a couple drinks. Ordered an app and a burger to share. Both came out at the same time (not a big deal but would have liked to get the app first as we were hungry). We had also mentioned to our server we were going to split the sandwich but weren’t given an extra plate (still not a big problem but little things add up). Where I finally got annoyed was when our bill came. We were handed our check when we were still in the middle of eating (who knows I could have ordered more drinks?). And then I noticed there was an incorrect charge on the bill. I had ordered a ā€œMeans of Subsistenceā€ which on the menu was $4.50 but on the check was registered as $6 (Nitro ESB/pint) on the check. Once again not a huge issue and we had kind of figured he might be a new server and maybe he selected the wrong one by mistake. When I asked about the difference in the charge, our server Chad shrugged and said ā€œoh I think some of the prices have changed.ā€ I asked if he would honor the price on the menu and he mentioned he ā€œcouldā€ get a manager if I really wanted but otherwise wouldn’t correct our bill. We didn’t want to be a pain so we just payed the bill then and asked to speak to a manager. In hindsight, we shouldn’t have paid because then no manager ever came by. We gave up after waiting 10-15 minutes and...

I live in the area and would come often IF even a few of the following were true:

  1. the service was good (rude hostesses on multiple occasions)
  2. the hours were good for watching sporting events or a date night (they close by 9pm, even on weekends - what? and they don't have NFL sunday ticket. Really cheap move for a brewpub)
  3. the food was good (the only thing worth getting are the fries. Even the quality of their pretzels - something that should be EASY to do - has gone down and not worth the price)
  4. the beer was good (so much better beer in Boise... sockeye beer is just generally not good)
  5. kids were allowed in the mini golf area
  6. there was a bigger area for meeting people to better enjoy things like trivia nights or hanging with a group. It's really strangely setup to be basically a restaurant, with not much space for actual interaction outside of a seated meal. Very strange for a brewery/brewpub atmosphere, especially one in a neighborhood.

So we don't go. It's disappointing because the location is great and within...

Would love to tell you about the food and beer but we were told at 445 you should probably leave since you have a minor with you and as the East side is closed to minors at 5 PM. Went for a drink and appetizer after work after and picking up my son (15 year old) and meeting parents. I asked what if I got a drink and some food what would I do, they said you son would have to go stand in the other room and wait. So I thought maybe the other side would be OK but they were 30 minutes for a table so we just left. We don't visit that side of town that often so we won't be back. Stupid rule! I am kind of curious if they kicked all other 20 kids playing golf out at 5?

There are rules and there are spirit of the rules or ideas of the rules. Having an adults only area is fine. Just own that instead. Las Vegas bar have that all over... no kids allowed, but your not that fancy Sockeye.

...and now after a couple years of stupid rules....you lost the battle. It was never about the location it's about how it was poorly...

We tried the remodeled restaurant about 2 weeks ago and I have to say the improvements were fantastic. The menu previously was fine, all the pub standards but now, with the new menu, the quality of food has gone way up- they mentioned they had a new chef and he seems to have a good handle on it. My family had the arancini, the salmon burger (it was huge and soooooo delicious), the cheeseburger, the dip and a baked potato and all were delicious! One point that I felt was lacking previously was the service and it couldn’t have been more different or better on this visit. Our server was clearly well acquainted with the menu, gave awesome recommendations and was available to ask for more beers and condiments without having to wait. I definitely encourage anyone who hasn’t had the best experience to give it another try. It really feels like a different restaurant.

I had some wild Mushroom beef stroganoff. It was amazing! So good I placed a seeecond order to take home. I like how the beer selection includes some variety of beers that are NOT all IPA's. I like malty and smooth varieties, and the dooplebock, and creamery did not disappoint. I flipped my waitress a little sass, and she fired right back it was great. I had a wonderful time with my niece. We both enjoyed our meals and a few beers before a long flight āœˆļø back to Seattle. The assistant manager and our waitress were both amazing. Grateful atmosphere, amazing food, and sassy but fun service. Sx out of five 🌟!!!!

I will admit that I almost hoped to be disappointed since we never had a 25min wait at the Cole location before they left... But everything was great here. -šŸ”¼ Every dish we had was fantastic and in good portions. - šŸ”¼ Service was pleasant and as needed. - šŸ”»The wait felt almost forced as we saw some open tables as we approached the hostess. But by the time we left there were at least a dozen empty tables.
