What an awful experience!!!
We went to this restaurant because it was highly recommended by some locals, and we saw that they have lamb burgers. Yummy!
We got there, and there was a line inside and outside the door. There wasn't anyone taking names, so you had to see who's in front and behind you to keep your place in line. Every 10 minutes or so, a so-called hostess would come put to ask how many in a party, but still no name taking or any order in this chaos. Surprisingly, or not, a couple of couples went in "to ask something" and never came out. I guess some people are better than others.
We finally sat down, and we both ordered the lamb burger. Nobody asked how we'd like it.
After 62 minutes (that's over an hour wait), and after adjoining tables that came after us were already half way through their meal, we FINALLY got our burgers.
Biting into them was met with a burned Charcoaled black piece of dry cardboard meat. We tried asking for more tzizziki sauce (which was weird and nothing like any tziziki sauce we've ever had), but it did not make the burnt piece of meat any better.
Since our waitress was never to be found, we asked for the manager (Ismail?) who said he'll get the kitchen to make us new burgers. Fine.
25 minutes later, two new burgers came out. And guess what? Burnt, Charcoaled, black pieces of dry meat.
The manager came by, and again, we showed him what we got.
He said he will take one of the inedible burgers off our bill.
The bill came in very fast, and we left, leaving the two uneaten burgers on the table, as well as an unearned $20 that covered the burger's cost + a small tip for an inattentive waitress.
Bottom line - awful experience, over 1.5 hours of misery, hungry stomachs, and $20 lighter.
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, and I can not see us...
Read moreI have been here many many times as a local. This place is all about the regular fries, fry sauce, burgers, and BLT. If you want amazing service, go somewhere else. This place is too busy to provide amazing service, but the people that work there have always been nice and casual yet professional. Yeah you might have to stop a waitress to ask for a refill and when you are ready to pay you just go up to the cashier and pay. The place is really very nice, very comfortable, and very clean. The food has always been top notch and despite being very busy all the time I've never had them mess up my order, take a very long time to prepare it, or give me food that was undercooked or anything other than top quality. I've never heard of them running out of potatoes (but I almost always come for lunch). Hard to believe they can run out of potatoes. The owner is a potato farmer with a potato packing facility just a few miles away. If you are the kind of person that loves fries with fry sauce, you will love this place. I only ever wasted my time on steak fries once, the regular fries are much better IMO. If you are looking for quiet fine-dining with a steak cooked exactly to your specifications with a waitress to check on you 10 times and tell you all about the menu, this is not your place. It is a very casual place where half of the diners are local farmers. Always very busy and crowded. Their burgers are meaty and greasy but delicious. Great breads for the burgers and sandwiches. Unbeatable BLT with thick pieces of bacon. They also have some unique things like lamb burger or trout or pasta, but I just can't pass up either the blt or a burger with mushrooms. Hands down my favorite...
Read moreStevo's is a small and charming place. It's obvious that it's a favorite among locals. It has a nice location just a 1/4 mile North of the 84 off ramp. The decor is lacking, but clean and comfortable for a diner type place. I uploaded a pic of my view from where I was seated.
I ordered the Lamb burger special for $9. The burger was satisfying. It seemed to be seasoned well. The bun was fine and condiments like shredded lettuce were average also. The burger was by no means a gourmet offering, but it sure beat highway fast food, though for the price, I'd have to struggle with that.
The fries were the largest disappointment. They were wet and limp. I wasn't able to stomach more than a few. There was no seasoning and the "steak" fries are not wedges as one may think, but sliced thin more like potato chips. You can see both on the plate in my photo. When the waiter asked about how I enjoyed them, I politely shared their condition and he was defensive. He said that if I needed them to be "crispy" I would have to make a special request next time. Crispy? I just want them to not to droop. Anyhow, all in all, I think this was a $6 burger. I may or may not stop in again when headed interstate as I was last week. It was good enough to try again, but not worth finding it if it weren't just a stone's throw from...
