Verily, upon mine recent sojourn through the bustling thoroughfares of yon ancient quarter, I didst stumble upon a most wondrous house of victuals, known to the townsfolk as The Sushi Shack. Hark! Ne’er have I partaken of such ambrosial delights as were served beneath its humble eaves.

From the moment mine boot did cross the threshold, I was greeted with courtesies most gracious, and led to a table bedecked in linen fine. The air was rich with the scent of ocean’s bounty and the delicate perfume of vinegared rice.

First came forth the sashimi, sliced with a reverence as though the blade were guided by the very hand of a master artisan. Each morsel, supple and glistening, didst melt upon the tongue like the morning dew upon a petal. The nigiri, adorned with whispers of wasabi and cradled in rice formed with such care, seemed almost too divine to consume.

The rolls—ah!—they were marvels of both flavour and form. One, wrapped in seaweed black as midnight, contained within it treasures of eel and avocado, bathed in a sweet glaze that danced upon the palate like a minstrel’s tune. Another did boast of fiery tuna and crisp cucumber, each bite a sonnet to the senses.

What truly did elevate this feast to the realm of the celestial was the balance, the harmony—a symphony composed not with lyre or lute, but with knife and knowledge, with tradition and love.

O gentle reader, should thy path e’er bring thee near this sacred haunt, tarry not! Make haste to The Sushi Shack and there partake in the feast of emperors. Thou shalt depart with heart lifted, belly content, and spirit ever grateful for the gift of such divine sustenance.

Thus do I proclaim: five stars, and would that I could...

I had an amazing dining experience at Sushi Shack! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely top-notch. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor—easily some of the best I’ve ever had.

What made the experience even better was the exceptional service from Ashley. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that did not disappoint. She made sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her kindness and professionalism truly elevated our visit.

If you’re looking for fantastic sushi and outstanding service, this is the place to go. Ask for Ashley—she’s the best! I’ll definitely be...

C’mon guys, this use to be the best Sushi in Boise. I use to rave and tell everyone about this place cause it was top notch! However, the last 3 times I’ve visited it was absolutely terrible. The rolls are now the size of a quarter - if that. $20+ to get subpar sushi. The presentation is just awful. One of the last three times I visited it looked as though the sushi chef dropped the roll and cobbled everything together and squirted some sauce on top to make it look somewhat presentable. Two of the last three visits, it took upwards of 30 minutes each time to even get a roll served. What happened? This place was the best, now it’s a close second to the worst right behind Fred Meyer sushi. Anywho, so sad to see such a great place go...

We recently moved to the Downtown Boise area and haven’t been able to find a good Sushi place. A neighbor told us about this new Sushi & Bar concept restaurant about 8 minutes from downtown over in Harris Ranch. Lost Shack is the great neighborhood sushi joint that Boise was lacking. Everything we had was great, I highly recommend the Sassy Sis Roll (photo is Sassy Sis, but we ate 1/2 of it before I could get the camera out). Food was great, prices are fair, and next door is the new STIL Ice cream location (was great for an after dinner dessert). If near downtown Boise you should try Lost Shack over in Harris Ranch.

Pretty darn tasty! We tried a few classic rolls and the Sassy Sis, which turned out to be our favorite so far. The citrus, cilantro, jalapeno, and avocado blend together wonderfully and offers a flavor that I didn't expect with sushi, but definitely enjoyed! Service was really excellent and it's very clear that a lot of thought and heart has gone into this restaurant. From the decor, to the plates, to the utensils, everything seems to have been selected with care - the chopsticks even have textured tips to help grip the food!! Excellent work, thank you for the meal, we'll be back!

I've been maybe 4 or 5 times now because my gods, it's good. Friendly, time efficient staff, comfy atmosphere, reasonable pricing and an above average sake selection (plus sake cocktails!! So creative!) Even on a long wait, I've never waited too long without quality miso soup (my favorite in the area so far) and a crisp drink to hold me over. I'm glad I live close and get to be a regular. The SS friendship has been my fave and pictured with this is the Mango Dango, but I subbed eel for the octopus, cus that's not quite my jam. Delicious menu, bring your friends ♡
