I agree with the above review that this place can't seem to decide what it wants to be. My wife and I decided to give it a try last night since we always love checking out new pubs, breweries, etc. and this is one we had not been to.
The place is clean and well kept, but with half of it feeling like an uptown pub and the other half feeling like a dive bar, it had a bit of both in the way of clientele with a nice family feel on one end of the building and drunks shouting at each other as they were playing pool on the other end.
The latter half brings up my main down-starring to this place. It was LOUD. LOUD LOUD LOUD. The acoustics in the building are downright atrocious and within several minutes of sitting down inside, my wife and my throats were hoarse from having to nearly scream at each other just so we could hear each other. Even then, the we couldn't hear each other. This is hands down the LOUDEST place I've been to in Boise aside from a night club. We eventually got up and went to sit outside.
That aside, the beer was good, and we ordered the nachos, which we really enjoyed. The seating area outside was nice, and by the look of the menu, it wasn't big, but it seemed like a good assortment for just grabbing food with beer after a work day.
They really need to get the inside under control, hence the -2 stars. Line the ceiling with sound deadener. Ditch the pool tables and put more seating. Something. Otherwise, there are much more comfortable places in Boise...
Read moreIf I could give it zero stars I would. If you enjoy waiting forever for food that is mediocre at best, that you choose from a limited, slim pickings type of menu, and then paying ridiculous prices for said crappy food then by all means, go to the twisted timber "pub & grill." I put the quote marks because a place that does not serve burgers or steaks and only offers fries as an appetizer and not a side does not deserve to be called a pub. I tried ordering the chips and salsa. I requested some shredded cheese for the salsa and was told they only had nacho queso. What kind of kitchen doesn't have cheese you may ask? Their kitchen, which more closely resembles a mall kiosk than an actual kitchen, does not,
The loud, obnoxious, and cramped space only added to the miserable experience and made the un-attentive waitress even more annoying, hence the reason she did not receive a tip. $35 for 1 sandwich, 2 orders of 6 "hot wings" that were nothing more than chicken wings dipped in sauce, 2 beers, and a coke is far less than appropriate.
Bottom line: this place can't seem to decide whether it wants to be a legitimate, well run pub or a dive bar where the locals hang out. Until it does, I suggest you don't waste your money, time, or patience and take your...
Read moreTable next to us decided to send their wine back but their waitress had mistakenly told them they would still need to pay for the glass of wine. Customers then told the waitress to send a manager over. Meanwhile, a new glass of wine that the customer asked for is brought to them and the other one taken care of. Our waitress, after we asked for an item then proceeds to go to the table next to us that were dissatisfied and talks very negatively about her coworker which should not be happening with your customers. At the end, I didn’t get what I asked for to go with my meal because our waitress was to busy talking very negatively about her coworker to customers. I have thoroughly enjoyed Twisted Timber but tonight I didn’t even want to eat my pizza after this and boxed it up to go. I would suggest some staff training...
