This place has went down hill. I’ve been eating here since it was first opened as the cabbage bowl then sold New owners but still the cabbage bowl & then sold again and opened as Doris jeans and sold to what it is now back when it was the cabbage bowl it was the best great food at cheap affordable price but now the food is subpar and the prices are high the buffet is Luke warm not kept at the recommended temp but the health dept ate here on 11-19-23 what a mistake the only thing they have on sundays is the buffet just fried chicken and sides no menu items everything was barely warm the peach cobbler wasn’t even cooked until done the peaches were still hard. The so called banana pudding isn’t real homemade banana pudding what a disappointment And was charged $7.50 for a 3 yr olds buffet she didn’t even eat that much worth people drop more on the floor than what she ate most places let kids that age eat free but not here and you don’t know who your waitress is because I started off with one then a different one was waiting on us the first one was just standing next to the counter doing nothing will not be coming back and wouldn’t recommend. Sure do miss the original cabbage bowl some say that the owners are the same as the one that owned Randy’s in Trenton which closed down hopefully the same will happen with Howard’s restaurant...
Read moreWe’ve been here now at least 4 times…on Sunday after church (busy time), dinner two other times and random lunch. Hubby and I love salad bars and a hot buffet. We’ve had their pizza night with lasagna and pasta, we’ve enjoyed their crispy fried chicken and meatloaf, turkey with all mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, stuffing and roles… gosh, everything is so delicious and fresh. The salad bar is always well stocked, the potato salad is amazing, love their ambrosia and I’m never disappointed with the selection. The pizza on their pizza night is so delicious! Not going to lie, I’m originally from Chicago and a bit of a pizza snob, Howard’s pizza is good, really good!!! Great chew on the crust, not soggy at all, great selection and great pizza sauce and topping. I’m hard to please with pizza and Howard’s did not disappoint!!! Sunday after church was a little crazy busy but the salad bar and buffet was kept well stocked and fresh. Totally worth coming here and we’ll definitely be back. We visit Howard’s when we’re visiting the campground, if you’re a local…you know this is a...
