Decent little watering hole right on the state line. Friendly bartender, decent bottled beer selection with the essential domestics on tap. Another Google reviewer raved about the steak so I went for it, that was a bust. Ribeye was ordered mid-rare and came out mid-well, almost full well. Looked and tasted like someone sat a grill weight on it and went out for a smoke break. Super tough, overcooked, overseasoned. It might have been a decent cut but we will never know. Having said all that there aren't many nice eats in the Danville area (that I've found) and I think this place is probably about par. I imagine if I'd ordered a big greasy burger I probably would have ended up throwing them an additional star. Was on the road this week and like support the local small businesses. Found I & I on the map, and it had good reviews - 4.5 stars with several hundred reviews. I decided to give it a try. Had the Smoked Pork Chop dinner. To try and make it brief: The service was fine. The beer was cold. The salad was fresh and tasty. The loaded baked potatoe was way overcooked. As I eat my potatoes skin and all, I couldn't cut through the skin on half of it. It crumbled when i tried to stab the chunks. As for the "smoked" chop, I was really disappointed. Cooked fine, but it was not a smoked pork chop. It was a chop that I guess had liquid smoke put on it. Perhaps they need to know what a real smoked pork chop is? I’m pretty sure the steak is more than 12 oz and it’s always cooked right and delicious. It comes with plenty of sides so i always share the meal with my boyfriend. I recommend the French onion soup (you won’t find a better French onion soup in the area) the big loaf of fresh baked bread, and a big loaded baked potato that comes with it. Inflation has hit and the price for this meal has stayed the same, I would have gotten half the food anywhere else for the price. Also try their Alfredo on Mondays. They offer chicken or shrimp and both are cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a good meal that’s going to satisfy your cravings.
