The pizza was good but.....If you are going with a large group you should make reservations and call a second time to make sure they actually wrote down your reservation. We arrived with a group of 11, 4 which were 5 and under. They didn't have our reservation after a call a week before. They offered us several high top tables which would have split us up. High top tables with little kids don't mix well. They then offered us a table set up which was reserved for 40 minutes from the current time. Since it was at normal table height and they said they would rush our pizza order, we agreed to stay as it was Saturday and going someplace else wasn't a good option. We had exactly 7-8 minutes from the time our pizza arrived until the time they brought boxes and started clearing the table. With half our party being children because we were together for a 4 year old birthday party, we felt very rushed. The kids barely ate and drinks, some of which were not water, were taken before they were finished. It was a good effort in their part after not noting our reservation, but it left us feeling rushed out. We were not able to enjoy a family dinner together and we ended up feeling pushed out the door. They did comp the check somewhat and brought out complimentary appetizers, but I know that we won't return to...
Read moreFirst time here and also my buddy Darryl. We had been at the Wheels O' Time Museum next door and we're hungry after touring this great gem of a museum that everyone needs to get out and see the tremendous value it is to the community. Anyway we were seated promptly. Took Darryl forever to decide on the pizza we should order. His decision was the buffalo chicken 16 inch pizza. He sure didn't like the fact the restaurant didn't have his Mountain Dew. Had to settle on Mellow Yellow. There menu isn't huge, but that was okay. Little pricey, but what isn't these days. I liked the open air/lots of elbow room inside. Nicely decorated with many TV screens to watch sports if that's what you're into. Our pizza was out in a jiffy after we ordered. It was huge but we ate all of it. Good to see they have all the condiments on the table. Tabasco and Frank's hot sauce also. The crust wasn't thick and I do like my crust very thin, but this crust wasn't that thin, but good just the same. The chicken was in small cubes, but tasty. I prefer it shredded. Overall we had a very pleasant meal and a very pleasant...
Read moreIn short, Knuckles blew my mind with their amazing staff, "Quad City Style" food, and a selection of craft beers from Bent River Brewery, operated out of the Quad Cities.
I have to say what inspired me to write a review on Knuckles was the staff. They were extremely helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed, proactivly checking up on on our table as we became closer to the end of our drinks or food (not waiting for us to flag them down), but most of all, not afraid to own up to a simple mistake. Something other restaurants fail at where they never check the food before it leaves the kitchen and wait to see if the customer noticed. Not true with Knuckles, our waitress came out along with who I assumed was the manager, apologized, and immediately offered to rectify the situation. I have a huge amount of respect for any restaurant who operates this way, where every customer matters, and not to mention again, but to Proactively Own Up to a mistake, and not negotiate with the customer to squeeze more money out of them. I will return, and I will be recommding this place to...
