Had the opportunty to stop in at the hidden Max-Boyd-s Hideout in Antioch recently, interesting place, decor and experience.
Located in Antioch, but off the beaten path, literally. a few blocks off of Grass Lake Road is the Hideout, not far away from any of the Chain of Lakes.
Weathered and worn, like a old leather jacket, if you are looking for an old school tavern style place, you should stop in.
Bring cash only, or use their ATM, indulge in their beer or drink selection while seated at the bar, table or play a Slot machine.
I enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich-fries or chips, which was delicious and flavorful. I see they have ribs, burgers, fish frys and prime rib selections as well available.
The prohibition, Al Capone theme is a nice touch as well. Test your sense of adventure...
Read moreWe decided to try this tonight for the first time and it was Mexican night. That's the only menu you can order from on Tuesday nights, so we were a little bummed at first, but decided to try it anyway.
WOW ... everything we ate was SO full of flavor and soooo tender. We had Carne Asade, all the different tacos (shrimp, chicken, beef, & steak), and fajitas ... the chips were definitely homemade, the salsa full of flavor but not too spicy, and the Spanish rice was also really good. I can't say anything negative about any bite of food we had!
My only gripe? Lol ... they don't have queso 😁

Israel the cook rocks the kitchen. His salsas are so fresh and flavorful with a lot of bite. On St. Pat's Day, their corned beef and cabbage tasted so good.
