OK, so here's how you do it!! (take it from a regular who's there a LOT!!). Eat at PORT of Blarney as the food is quite good and Fernando is a very good chef. The salads are to die for and so are the wraps. (try the Coconut salad with coconut encrusted chicken, its great!!) After 4:00 PM, the prime rib is quite good too. AFTER you eat at PORT of Blarney, take the ferry ($8.00 round trip per person leaving about every 1/2 hour if BOTH ferries are running) to Blarney Island and enjoy the sites (people watching) and wonderful views @ "the Island" . Drinks are NOT cheap, BUT they are reasonable for what you get. No where else in the world has a cool bar in the middle of a lake like this!! Take your own boat and park for free at the docks if you have a boat. Helicopter rides on Sat and Sunday are cool and are $40.00 a person for about a 6 minute ride. Short, BUT Av Fuel is costly!!
I wish I could get to Rob H personally and tell him that the DJs he gets are really out of touch with reality. My son who is a DJ says "always know your crowd." The most recent DJ at the island on Sunday 08/07/16) was playing Euro Club songs to a bunch of older/middle aged people who want to hear rock n roll or country. What part of " know your audience" don't you DJs understand?? When people aren't singing along or dancing, then you're doing it all wrong. Play what they want, NOT what YOU want!! In fact, take a page out of the DJ at Famous Freddy's playbook and ask them what they want by walking around? You'd...
Read moreI'd give it zero stars if I could. We were told by a waitress that the boat shuttle to the island started running at 5:00pm. When we arrived at 5, we were told it didn't start until 6:00. This is on a Friday night! The bartender (who said he was also the manager) had 3 customers waiting at the bar, all discussing how frustrated they were, regarding how long they'd been waiting to be served. Oddly the place was empty, so not sure why the slow service. When we were finally acknowledged, I mentioned to him that we'd been told the incorrect time for the shuttle service, thinking he might want to know someone on staff is giving incorrect info. Instead he said in a rather condescending manner, "look I don't know who told you that, but we'll get you on the shuttle for free". We weren't looking for a free ride, or free anything, but hoped for a little compassion since we drove a long distance to experience our first visit to Blarney Island, which now we didn't have enough time to accomplish. At that point I realized it was just as well that our visit was about to end there, because neither the bartender/manager or any other workers were diligently wearing protective face coverings. Most of the servers wore them on their chins, beneath their mouth and nose. I thought this was mandatory by law in IL? All around a very...
Read more5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Barb was super nice 😊 she was very kind I think she might be the owner. and this place is a staple in Wisconsin. I can’t wait to come back during some to actually take the bait out to the Blarney Island and even rent one of their cabins they offer on the water. The bar area has a lot of history and they had a slot machine area for anyone’s gaming needs. They have a outdoor area with another bar and you can have private parties here to, one was actually going on when we stopped by. Food stopped at 9pm which was one of the reasons we came here but we got there a little late to eat. Another thing about this place I know the family who built it back in the day which is a special place. The parking 🅿️ lot was large and they offer boat launching here to ($25) the women’s restroom was nice and clean 🧼 They also sell merchandise which I should of bought a hat!!! Definitely want to come back to eat stay the night and go out to the island when it’s nice and warm out. Like 👍🏻 my review and please check...
