Triple E BBQ Lake of Egypt — Restaurant in Illinois

Number one their Bluegill dinner is actually Tilapia. Not sure how they get away with that one. Number 2 the "TILAPIA" dinner use to be very good with two big fillets and an excellent flavor like fresh fish. The last two times we have been there to get my TILAPIA/BLUEGILL dinner I was served two little bitty flavorless fillets similair to the ones raised in the sewers of China. Me and my wife eat here 2 to 3 times per month at an average ticket of $25.00. That's an average of $600 to $900 per year. My question to the buyer/owner is are you saving any money by going to a cheaper, inferior product and losing not only my business but many others i'm sure? Honestly they deserve higher than one star for the rest of their food. The BBQ meats are good to very good and the sides are excellent. My boyfriend and I had been fishing down further south and we were on our way home in Benton. He ordered the Open Faced Pork, with mashed potatoes and smothered in gravy. Then to me, NO Italian Beef, so I ordered a hamburger, fries, and side salad. They forgot to bring my greasy fries although they charged me for them on our ticket. I finally got my fries after I had finished one of The Most pitiful hamburgers I have ever seen. The bun was so thick and hard that I don't believe I even tasted the "hamburger ". I was very disappointed. Between those two not so great meals and 2 Coca-Cola, our total was $27.87..... 30.00 or more after the tip.

Great bluegill! Fried to perfection. 🐟🍽Yum. We went at about 4pm, we missed the lunch rush and avoided too much dinner crowd as well. Wait staff was courteous enough, everyone else...meh Felt like I came into someone's treehouse without a password, and that also hadn't been swept in a while. Everyone else at my table had soft drinks that were frequently asked if needed refilled, my water apparently was a scarce resource..lol BUT, food was great! Seriously, great!
