Was driving back to Miami after visiting my dad in Sanibel (off Ft. Myers for non-Floridians). After checking out the incredible Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, I just happened to see if I'd hit a beer store en route to Miami, thinking the best I'd get was a gas station selling Coors Light....WRONG! As it turns out, there is a veritable craft beer oasis in a town I never even knew existed: Ave Maria (established in 2007). Both of their house beers were excellent (a light lager and a well-balanced pale ale), and they've got many more of their own brewing, to be released post-Covid. For now, they basically have every style imaginable either on tap or in cans, clearly with the aim of having something on hand for all tastes: lagers, sours, Belgians, pale ales, IPAs, stouts, porters, wheat beers, seltzers, goses, hmmm, am I missing any? Very friendly atmosphere and staff, and you can get flights, crowlers, growlers, and everything in between. I do believe they have sandwiches and other food, but I'll try that next. Family owned an operated business performing at its peak! The staff are superb! Ownership is amazing! The subs are fantastic, best and Ave and I dare to say best in Florida! The beer is fantastic and awesome selection and the bartenders Even get to know you so well that they can suggest to you something new for your next visit! Beer, prices and sub prices are amazing! Nothing crazy it’s well worth the drive especially for the day to Ave Maria where there is so much more also to do. Wall craft beer even brings in food trucks so that the folks in the community can experience all of what Naples gets to enjoy With regards to cuisine.
