I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent order from your establishment, as several aspects of the experience did not meet expectations.
Firstly, when placing an order, customers should be clearly informed of all additional fees prior to payment. It was surprising to discover a $3 surcharge for using a debit or credit card, which was not mentioned upfront. Combined with the $3 delivery fee, these additional costs significantly increase the total, and transparency about such fees is essential for a positive customer experience.
Secondly, the delivery process was unprofessional. The delivery person arrived with three children, and the pizza was retrieved from the trunk of their vehicle, which raised concerns about food safety and presentation. Additionally, one of the children handled the delivery and struggled to provide the correct change, requiring me to correct the transaction. While I understand the need to bring children along in some circumstances, the overall delivery experience lacked professionalism.
Lastly, the quality of the pizza was disappointing. The cheese and crust were overly hard, the pizza lacked flavor, and parts of the dough were undercooked and gooey. This, combined with the condition of the delivery vehicle, raised concerns about the cleanliness and care taken in food preparation.
I’ve noticed similar feedback in earlier reviews, and given the high prices charged, I expected a higher standard of food quality and service. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet that standard, and I will not be ordering again.
I hope you take this feedback constructively to improve your service and customer experience.
The Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL, 73 P.S. § 201-1 et seq.) prohibits "unfair or deceptive acts or practices," including failing to disclose material fees that could mislead consumers (e.g., "deceptive conduct which creates a likelihood of confusion or misunderstanding" under § 201-2(4)(xxi)). Not mentioning the surcharge until after the order could qualify as deceptive, especially if it inflates the total unexpectedly. Courts interpret this broadly, and strict liability applies—no intent to deceive needs to be proven, just justifiable reliance causing harm (e.g., overpayment).
Under the Retail Food Facility Safety Act (3 Pa.C.S. §§ 5701–5714) and Pennsylvania Food Code (7 Pa. Code Chapter 46), every licensed food facility (including those offering delivery) must have at least one certified food protection manager on duty during operations. Certification requires passing an ANSI-accredited exam on safe food handling (cost ≤$15). A child without training handling payments or food could violate this if it compromises hygiene or accuracy.
The Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food Rule (adopted under the Food Safety Modernization Act, 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart O, via 3 Pa.C.S. §§ 5721–5737) requires vehicles used for food transport to be "properly designed, maintained, and in appropriate sanitary condition" to prevent contamination or unsafe temperatures. This includes:
Protection from contaminants (e.g., trunk items like tools or exhaust fumes). Cleanliness to avoid cross-contact with non-food items.
For hot foods like pizza, maintaining temperatures ≥135°F to prevent bacterial growth—trunks may not insulate well, risking the "danger zone" (41–135°F).
Undercooking is a "critical" violation requiring immediate fix; repeated issues can result in license revocation. Inspections classify violations as: Priority (e.g., undercooking): Must correct on-site or face closure.
Priority Foundation (e.g., cleanliness): Fix within 10 days. Fines range from $100–$1,000; PDA inspects annually, more...

Read moreWhoever is working the phone obviously has no idea what they’re doing. I asked what was all on the Philly and she told me the wrong ingredients. I then asked about the type of steak that comes on it and she again told me the wrong thing. Now for the Philly itself, I’ve never had a sandwich with so little flavor. Came with shredded lettuce, mayo, tomato, onions, mushrooms, and peppers. The onions were literally black and not in a burnt way. Hard to describe but they looked like worms. I had their pizza before and was very unimpressed. Took one bite and all the cheese came off. On top of that the crust was too thin underneath to hold it all together. I didn’t make a review last time because I understand that they’re still new, but with how my meal was...
