Denalis On The River — Restaurant in Independence

Had never been, and met some friends there, who also had never been. It was midweek, so golf league was playing, so pretty busy parking lot. We were greeted/seated right away while we waited for the rest of our party. I asked if a martini was an option (moving from a larger city a martini hasn’t been an option I’ve found around this area) and the server wasn’t sure, but asked for me…of course, the bartender wasn’t hesitant at all. Note* it was delicious*

Once our friends arrived they ordered their drinks, and were accommodated as well. The server checked back several times to see if we were ready to order dinner, and never left us looking for her for our drinks. The bartender was so amazing he made us a verrrry refreshing cocktail, and even came to our table to tell us his secret concoction in the pitcher we shared. Again, delicious!

We ordered our meals, with more than a few requests…lol. At this time we reassured the server we were done being “high maintenance”, but she was so friendly, thankfully she wasn’t bothered. When our food came out (in a very reasonable timeframe) everything everyone had ordered was PERFECTION!! Steaks cooked exactly how ordered, and my friend’s pizza was fresh/delicious, too.

We were so pleased with our experience…all of us were, because it didn’t seem “hit or miss” at all to us. We were brought the bill, and pleasantly surprised by that, too. Extremely reasonably priced! Our table was cleared right away while we sat and visited a little bit longer, and we were on our way.

We were very politely thanked, and enjoyed all the staff there. They were pretty busy that night, and on their toes.

It’s a very nicely done place, and we can’t wait to go back to experience the patio.

The ONLY downside that we found was the parking situation there. Limited parking, and not having closer access to...

Visited Denalis with a group of people. They were very busy. The bar and dining room were over crouded since it was raining, and patio seating was not a good option. It took a little bit for the waitress to come for our drink order. As expected, when delivering our drinks, the waitress efficiently took our food order. The wait was similar to any other busy restaurant. About ⅓ of our orders were not prepared as requested. The steaks were overdone, and the brisket was not hot enough. The steak was still really tasty and tender. there was no need to send it back. They prepared a new brisket sandwich quickly. It was very good. Their salads and sides were great. The mashed potatoes were real, not from a box. They were the best I've ever had at any restaurant, and the portions were good-sized. The food was pretty good overall. I suspect it would have been much better if it hadn't been as crowded. They gave a complimentary desert to make up for the cool brisket and overcooked steaks. They also comp a dessert for folks with a birthday. The chocolate overload cake was very rich and decadent. Denalis won't become my new favorite restaurant based on this visit. I will return when it's not as crowded. While this visit wasn't disappointing, it wasn't remarkable either. I would say 4...

Very good restaurant if you want a bratty teenager of a server to be disrespectful towards you. We originally ordered the rib-eye as medium rare. It came out medium on half and well done on the other side. The seasoning was very good but just not cooked as desired. We brought the issue up kindly to our server and she pointed to the small pink section saying “I see pink right there” so we suggested could we get some sandwiches instead. Ordered the Rueben and the western burger (with having the burger slightly pink in center). Rueben came out on soggy bread and the burger was over done with bacon that was black. Server tried to say that nothing was wrong with the sandwiches and that the manager would say the same thing she did. At this point had to eat to survive not to enjoy. The entire time we were there our water glasses were empty. The only good thing was when the manager came to the table and was very polite and happy to help (despite the server saying that he would “say the same thing that she did”). Also had ordered bourbon burger (probably the best thing...
