The Frosty Monkey L.L.C — Restaurant in Independence

This charming ice cream shop is undoubtedly one of the most unexpected gems in Independence, Virginia. We have been visiting Independence for 12 years, and this establishment emerged around 5 years ago. The food here is likely the finest this town could wish for; I have dined at numerous places in the area, and none seem to grasp the concept of seasoning like the chef here does. After conversing with him and getting acquainted with him and his daughter, I can confidently say that Independence, Virginia, is missing out. I hope that when they film their TV show, they share their story with the world. You can't go wrong with their combined 30 years of culinary experience, and the daughter possesses an exceptional business acumen and a scientific understanding...

Easily my favorite place to eat or just enjoy ice cream in town. The staff is very friendly and genuinely cares about their products and customers alike. The only place I’ve been where my one complaint is they serve too much ice cream for the kids… The food is excellent and they are consistently making menu modifications, trying new things, and willing to listen to customer feedback on items. I love the addition of games and other family friendly type entertainment. If you’re just a tourist passing through town, you won’t feel like a stranger or be treated like an unwelcome outsider here. I used to come here every Tuesday. The owner calls me “The Cheesecake guy” because I would get almost anything cheesecake wise in a milkshake. They are amazing in my opinion. Friendly staff. I love picking with Jessica and talking to the man in there, who I’m guessing is her father. The food could be a little better, but I’m not much of a hot dog person anyways. Overall it’s a five star from me. And sometimes I bring my nephew here. He always says or asks “can we go to frosty monkey?” Very good...
