have always heard good things about this place, but was unexpectedly highly disappointed. went for a birthday dinner with only a group of 4, not a huge party, and we sat in the back room. with the length of time we waited for our waitress to come back to us you would’ve thought the entire restaurant was full …. it was not. in fact, it was practically empty besides the back room. 15 minutes waiting to be greeted, 20 minutes for our drink orders, 20 minutes waiting to put our food order in. food came surprisingly quick but don’t worry, we had to wait another 20 minutes for boxes and our check! the food was horrendous for the price point. steaks not cooked to order at all, driest ribs i’ve ever tasted, wilted lettuce in the salads, and just overall inconsistency. as pictured, two orders of shrimp and one is completely burnt. thought about getting dessert but didn’t want to have to wait another 20 minutes. overall, i would not recommend this place to anybody. inattentive staff, outrageous prices for poor quality food, and tacky decor. it’s a restaurant that’s trying so hard to be high end, but completely falls short. another note is the lack of handicap accommodations. there were no handrails in the women’s bathroom stalls and they were small as well. very interesting for a facility that claims it is wheelchair accessible on google.

Heston's Supper Club is a cozy, intimate upscale tavern with historical roots located off the beaten path and known for its prime rib and seafood. Location is a not out of the way in the countryside, but still popular with regulars. The Club is almost always healthily busy and crowded, especially on weekends. Reservations are only available for parties of 6 or more. Otherwise, you can expect a 15-30 minute wait at peak times (5:30pm or so) on weekends - which can be spent at the cozy bar. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Lighting is a bit low for those with difficulties seeing / reading menus, and the noise level is quite loud in the main dining room when crowded, which is not great for those hard-of-hearing - otherwise all is cozy and comfortable. Service is very friendly and timely, and the food - especially the steaks - is delicious and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the filet mignon and scallops. Also the wine selection is pretty solid, the side salads done very well, and desserts are quite good. Overall, Heston's Supper Club is a lovely and lively place to enjoy a semi-classy dinner and drinks event either with an intimate small group of friends or a bigger social gathering.

The wait was pretty long for a week night -- about an hour, after being told 30–45 minutes. Can't fault them for being busy, but be aware that you really need to get in before 5:00 if you don't want to wait too long. Service was perfectly fine but nothing extravagant nor nothing to ding points for. I ordered the house cut (20 oz) prime rib medium-rare, which was nearly perfect. Good size and pink all the way through; some places will have a bit of gray/brown on the outer edge, but Heston nailed this. Seasoning is mild, maybe a bit of garlic and/or onions, with a flavorful au jus. The outside was not overdone so as to be inedible. Price is a bit high compared to what I consider to be the other main competitor in the county for best prime rib. I suppose if you're going to Heston, you know what you're getting, but $50 or $69 for 20 or 28 oz, respectively, is a tad steep for me. I'm not sure I'll be back, but only because I can get an equally good prime rib for $30 elsewhere, but it's good to know Heston is an option -- bonus points for having prime rib every night instead of only certain nights.

Oh man. I had to delete my good review to make this one. It was THAT bad.

Came in tonight to celebrate my sister's birthday. We all drove an hour to get here. Let me start by saying we truly have loved this place in the past.

Our drinks were fantastic. Espresso martinis and margaritas... All great!

Our very pregnant friend ordered scallops. They came out BLACK. Those should have never been brought to the table and clearly the kitchen didn't listen to the server because she didn't want to bring them out at all but did. After the recook which took about a minute, scallops came back unseasoned and RAW. Serving raw seafood to a pregnant guest is a huge no-no, especially a recook.

Another friend ordered the ribs. Those also came out BLACK and hard as charcoal. Completely inedible. I carried those to the manager to privately talk with him about it and the rest of our meal, he seemed uninterested, and never once came to the table to apologize.

My sister ordered steak, medium rare, came out medium well, she ate it anyways.

My mom ordered shrimp dejogne (sp?), along with a steak. Steak was good she said, shrimp was completely unseasoned but covered with raw breadcrumbs which were dry. No flavor whatsoever.

I ordered a wedge salad, stuffed mushrooms, french onion soup. Soup was fantastic as always, salads are hard to mess up, mushrooms were barely warm but still delicious.

What a disappointment! I'm betting that's a lot of your guests travel a bit to get to your restaurant, with good reason! You were the best around. Attentive, food was impeccable, water glasses never empty, just perfection. For the price of your entrees, everything needs to be on point. Where did your standards go?

Also, one of your food runners had her hair down and it was literally LAYING DOWN on top of another friend's prime rib. Food runners should always have their hair pulled back. That's restaurant 101.

Unfortunately we won't be back. Even with 3 of our entrees taken off the bill, it was still well over $200. This all while a table next to us never even received their food and WALKED OUT. With a place like this, you get one chance... not like an olive garden or a chain where you may have hit or miss service/food but you get what you pay for and may try it again. Your place is for special occasions, dates, getting a sitter for a night out.... your food and service need to make all of...

We're regular customers. The food is always excellent. The atmosphere is not what it used to be. Since they remodelled, the entire restaurant is hard surfaces and during dinner it is very loud. They seriously need panels to absorb some of the noise. It's nerve racking and ruins the experience. I don't know how people can stand to work there. Tonight, we intentionally went to dinner late, around 8:00, hoping the dinner rush would be over. Unfortunately, there were still a couple of large parties and it was very loud. We had a hostess we've never seen before, when she tried to seat us in the most crowded part of the restaurant, next to the large parties, we said that it was uncomfortably loud and asked to be seated somewhere quieter, so she showed us to a table in the same section, exactly the same distance from the loud large parties. When we asked about being seated in the corner, she said no, when we asked if we could eat in the bar, she said no, she interrupted me to very curtly ask if we wanted the wine list, I was still trying to explain to her why the table wouldn't work for us when she interrupted me to ask if I wanted the wine list again, I said no, and with serious attitude she said "enjoy your dinner" and left. We weren't even seated. I'm normally the person who makes excuses for everyone else, I give everyone, the benefit of the doubt, even when I shouldn't. This wasn't just having a bad day short. Please believe me when I tell you that this was so incredibly over-the-top rude that I took the offense she intended and I walked out. We went to the McDonald's drive thru instead. The service was great by comparison, no one was rude to us ... Now, that said, we've never seen this woman before. The usual hostess is warm and friendly and the wait staff is always fantastic. But it only takes one really bad experience to sour your relationships with most customers. We know and love Heston and probably will come back, eventually, after the memory of how we were treated tonight has faded. If that was my first experience with Heston, it would be my last.

Update: we've gone back twice. The food and service is slipping. This just isn't the place to go for a nice...

We visited Heston supper club last night. This was my third visit within the last twelve months and my third disappointment. Before the pandemic I remember the food being so much better than it has been on my last three visits. I started with a Jack Daniels Manhattan that Cayman is a glass so small that it looked like an exaggerated shot glass. They weren't able to properly Brown the cheese that was wrapped over the top of our baked french onion soups (3), even after sending it back it still wasn't done properly after they told me it would probably be burnt and too hot to eat, under the poorly brown cheese the soup was only lukewarm. My next had a salad and our waitress recommended the dill salad dressing saying it was homemade and a favorite. I really didn't care for it. For dinner two of us had what they called the barnyard which was a half a slab of ribs and 8 oz cut of prime rib. The ribs were smoked and served dry with a plastic bottle of barbecue sauce on the side, I certainly was not impressed by that. I got an end cut of prime rib which was cooked properly, but lacked the usual burst of flavor an end cut has. One of the other diners in our group had a full a which she said was just average along with her lukewarm French onion soup, and our fourth diner had the prime rib medium, which was cooked properly the temperature but lacked any real flavor. The last straw was one of the bus girls bringing us containers, tossing them on the table and when asked if we pack up the leftovers are they do she said, I don't do that. Two of us live in Chesterton the other two came out from the Munster area. We collectively agreed that this is probably our last visit...
