A friend suggested this place after tasting their brews (and raving about them) at a local brew fest. The staff was very friendly and informative about all of their beer selections and the menu items. We had the Napoleon (very smooth) and Sidewinder (hoppy with a bright explosion of flavor). The pork tacos were amazing! Pulled pork, dry slaw, thin slices of apple, red onions and a sweet chile sauce that knocks your socks off. I tasted the fall harvest soup that a friend ordered. Pureed pumpkin, apples, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon. It tasted like a warm chutney- fall comfort food, for sure! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, which was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I haver ever had. The meat was perfectly done without being overly wet with sauce, nor too dry from lack thereof or overcooking. Lynn was the perfect hostess and waitstaff! It felt as though a friend was having us over for dinner. We sat outside in the patio area. The picnic tables are beautifully crafted and stained and included their logo branded on each. We brought our dogs, which were welcomed and not simply tolerated. They brought out a small plastic bowl filled with water, so they may have a drink as well. What a wonderful establishment, and well worth the 15 minute drive from the northside...
Read moreI believe these guys had a top five beer at the three rivers beer fest. their napoleon complex saison is a treat in every way.
Went with four people and two dogs, they let us sit in the outdoor area, and immediately brought the dogs water.
had the beer cheese it was great. it actually had a hoppy funk...very unique and delicious. had the tacos, also good, great sauce and eccoutrements with the food. not simple or one dimensional like a lot of mom and pop places. had the smoke pork shank thing. it truly was a WOW! best thing on the plate. delicate smoke flavors (at home my food is much more smokey) but a sweet golden cooked-ness to the meat that gave the entire piece of meat a caramelized flavor throughout. this thing is worth the drive. also had the Andouille burger; such fantastic texture! not a strong saussage flavor, or it was masked in everything else. but this thing had great chew. i think i had one of each beer, but i only review beer when i am drinking it one-off and sober. but i enjoyed them all.
if these guys were in Jefferson Point they would be the most popular restaurant in town. it's a long drive from the Roanoke side...
Read moreLaOtto Brewing gave us an excellent experience from the time we walked in until the time we left. Our server Makayla was an amazing help with deciding which menu items to try. We opened the meal with the smoked chicken chili. The bowl was well balanced with just the right amount of beans, chicken, and spices. For our entrees we got the smoked chicken wings with kettle chips and an order of the mac attack. The house rub on the wings was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. The marriage of pulled pork with mac and cheese in the mac attack was so warm and comforting that it left us wanting an afternoon nap.The carmel apple and apple pie hard ciders were from Blake's up in Michigan. They were the perfect fall beverages to wash down our meal. We ended our meal with a smoked pineapple sponge cake and a bowl of popcorn smothered in the house made bbq seasoning. Both were equally delicious and great snacks to enjoy while the game was on. We enjoyed a perfect fall Saturday lunch. Laotto Brewing has good food, great service, and delicious drinks. We definitely plan on returning to try brunch. Thanks for a great time. Keep up the...
