La Paloma Mexican Food — Restaurant in Indio

Do NOT eat the shrimp here! My boyfriend and I had been here once before, we had the tacos which were good. Last night we ordered the “Botana” which is the bottled beer with shrimp, peanuts, and cucumber covered in chamoy. We both took a few bites and could immediately tell something was off with the taste. That’s when I noticed the strong odor of ammonia. I realized it was coming from the shrimp. A quick google search told me the shrimp were beyond spoiled but actually RANCID. I brought the food up to the counter and explained to the young man that they absolutely cannot serve shrimp this way as it can get someone very sick. He was nice but didn’t offer a partial refund, which would have been nice since neither of us wanted to eat anymore. Ten hours later and I am very sick. I will never come here again, it’s...

My sister lives near this restaurant so when the family and I visit we usually stop to eat here on the way back to LA, because the food is pretty good for the area. They have burritos literally the size of an adult forearm for only 9 dollars and could literally feed 3 kids. It's pretty kept up in cleanliness as well there's only 1 problem I have is that the carnitas are obviously gonna be greasy(deep fried pork) but it's just a little too greasy for me and the flavor is mainly grease so thats not my favorite item but as long as you steer from there I think you'll enjoy it as a slightly above average...

Unfortunately, it was the first time eating here and it was the last time eating here. I am sorry to tell you guys that FOOD isn’t good but shame. We were very starving and so excited to check out this place bc this place has good reviews. All the meat chicken, beef and pork weren’t fresh but very dry and hard to chew. We are almost angry Bc it was our first meal around 3pm and we spent about $50 for two. Even the servers weren’t friendly and I can tell they were lazy Bc all the tables are dirty with food crumbs and I had to ask for the paper towels so I can clean the table for us.
