Picked a bad night, as there was a large group at several tables making the place very noisy.

I had the "Texas Barrel Steak" with mashed potatoes and stir fried vegetables. Potatoes and vegetables were good, if a bit salty. I'm not sure what part or the steer the steak came from, but it looked a lot like hanger steak, sliced into 1/4 inch thick slices. It seemed more like mediocre sirloin. I ordered medium-rare, but it was really medium and very chewy. Much like an overcooked sirloin. Flavor was not bad, but not as good as a good sirloin.

My wife had the braised short rib. She said it was quite good. It certainly smelled great.

Service was good to excellent. Dealing with the group probably was the reason it was not excellent.

I've had really good meals here in the past, so I'll probably give it another try in a while as it is easily the closest...

Going down hill...This used to be THE SPOT. They had a great happy hour, consistent menu, wonderful service, and regular hours. I was there recently, and wow. The server (tall guy) really needs to check with kitchen when he starts his shift. He spent more time coming back to inform guests on items they ordered, that the kitchen was out of, then actually serving. The menu looks nice, but why have multiple menu items that you are constantly out of?? Why is the server not knowing ahead of time whats going on?? Why are people being told they cant dine on the patio at certain times because of staffing? Why is server not knowing whats in a vodka and soda? What happened to the happy hour menu? Why are they always out of fish and chips? The table close by was told it was the chefs fault? What on earth.. Seriously,...

If I could leave zero stars I would. The single star would have to be for the view... only. Our waiter, Jose, definitely needs coaching on how to be successful at this role. We had to ask for refills, he didn't bus the table as plates and glasses were emptied, and we saw him maybe three times in our almost two hours on site. I saw him chatting more than taking care of customers. The food was underwhelming at best and two of our four orders were made wrong. Since our waiter failed to stop by to ask us about our meal, we just ate what we were served. It took over 50 minutes to get the wrong thing so couldn't imagine how much more we'd have to wait for them to correct. Go spend your money somewhere, anywhere, else, even if it's fast food!
