I wanted SO badly to love the food here. I read the reviews, checked out the menu online, and got excited to drive an hour away to eat here. Unfortunately, the meal disappointed on nearly every level. For the price, this broke my heart. First, my husband had to send back his sweet tea because it was unsweetened; then he was served ranch dressing with his salad rather than the vinaigrette he ordered. Our onion ring appetizer had good flavor, but the breading fell off of each one completely when they were picked up, leaving us with naked onions and crumbles of breading to consume separately from one another. My daughter’s cheeseburger was just that, a burger with cheese, on a bun. No lettuce or tomato, no condiments. Just meat, cheese, and bun. That wouldn’t even have been as bad if the bun wasn’t TWICE the size of the hamburger patty. The patty was literally 2.5” across. My husband said his Alfredo was ok, though a bit bland and nothing special. The real tragedy, though…. Oh the real tragedy was my meal. My baked potato was undercooked, but whatever. The grouper, though… it shattered my heart. I love grouper, but this grouper was much more fishy than grouper should be, and it had so much salt on it, it was inedible. Please understand: I am someone who LOVES salt. I eat things saltier than most people. I add extra salt to nearly everything. But I added NO salt to this, and it was OVERWHELMINGLY salty. I didn’t think I would ever sit down at a meal I found too salty, but tonight, I surely did. The only redeeming items on my plate were the lobster sauce and three tiny pieces of shrimp (yes, three PIECES, not three whole shrimp) that topped my sad, sad grouper. I tried to power through eating the fish and potato, but I literally could not. And did I have an opportunity to mention any of this to my server? No, no I did not — as I never saw her after the food was delivered until she brought our $70 check, sitting it on the table with a quick mention of “no rush” before disappearing as quickly as she had appeared. Her overall demeanor was pleasant enough, but she was certainly not attentive or interested in asking how our food was. I’m just so incredibly disappointed to have been repeatedly let down from the moment we got our drinks until the moment we...
Read moreI had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience at Bowen’s Landing in Inman, SC, and I can’t recommend this gem enough! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a memorable evening. The restaurant’s cozy yet refined vibe, with its charming 700-square-foot covered patio and stone fireplace, made it the perfect spot for a relaxing dinner. The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations without being overbearing. The staff’s genuine hospitality truly elevates the experience, making you feel like a welcomed guest. The menu is a delightful showcase of fresh seafood, Certified Angus Beef steaks, and creative pasta dishes, all prepared with top-notch care. I savored the Key West salmon, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, while my partner raved about the melt-in-your-mouth scallops. The shrimp dip appetizer was a crowd-pleaser, and the homemade desserts—especially the chocolate silk pie—were pure indulgence. The attention to detail, from the well-stocked bar featuring premium spirits to the thoughtfully curated wine list, added to the overall excellence. Bowen’s Landing strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and fine dining, making it ideal for a family dinner or a special date night. The location near Lake Bowen only enhances its appeal, offering a serene backdrop. This is hands-down the best seafood and steak spot in Spartanburg County, and I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreOur visit started with making a reservation yesterday with Stephanie, one of the owners. She was so polite and helpful and then came to our table when we were seated to say hello! Their staff was also very patient and helpful finding us the right table to meet our needs. This was my wife’s first visit & My second for dinner there tonight. Tim the other owner and Stephanie’s husband also greeted us at our table. It was obvious the wait staff were not only very polite and friendly, but also well trained and accommodating. Now the food! It was great. My wife nor I had never had grouper and it was meaty, moist and absolutely delicious. I also tried the crab cakes and oh were they good too, tender and flavorful! The prices were good and well prices for the quality of all the food. Tim shared with us about several of their other favorites as well like Sea Bass and Halibut. You will love the food and the warm, welcoming staff and atmosphere! Their menu is very well rounded also with plenty to choose from and even an early bird special menu! We are definitely going back! I consider this to be one of the better restaurants in Spartanburg and the best for service and friendliness! You will not be disappointed...
