My family has had a long hard past couple of months after going through the mayfield Ky tornado in December and just relocating to interlachen on April 20th and we decided to try and settle down and start our lives new here. We have been pleasantly surprised with hog wild country cafe! We have had quite a bit of take out and other sit in diners but this one by far has blown them all out of the water! We have traveled from Wv to sc then back to Wv then Ky and now here in Florida and this restaurant has absolutely beat EVERYONE WE HAVE EATEN AT to date!!! I had the pulled pork sandwich and it literally melted in my mouth, my son had a brisket sandwich and he made everyone at the table try it! My husband had the fish sandwich and he said it was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection and of course last but not least the biggest critic, my 6 year old autistic daughter ordered the corndogs and Mac n cheese and to be honest I haven’t seen her eat every single bite on her plate in months!!! We did buy a few souvenirs on the way out because my whole family loved this cute little restaurant/old time shop! They have a huge selection of hot sauces, honey, jam’s and spreads! They have cute little county decorations and kitchen items available for sale! It made us feel at home being there! The owner was the best, he came over and chatted with our family once we had finished our dinner which was so nice to hear where the meats come from and how he puts all of his love into his amazing restaurant! I highly recommend that anyone in the area or anyone passing by to stop in and try it! I promise you won’t regret it! The best thing I can honestly say about this place is that it won’t break your pocket! My family of 4 were able to have a very satisfying dinner with sides and drinks for under $40! Not many places can say that and I have more than enough proof that most places charge a family of 4 at least $60+ for dinner, most of the time it is upwards of $120 sometimes! I usually don’t write a review unless a place really deserves a review and this place honestly deserves more than a 5 star but that’s all it will allow so I hope that my honest opinion helps persuade you to go try it for yourself! You can thank me later ;) I wish I would have charged my phone for pictures but we were out all day at the beach when we decided to stop in for a bite before headed home but this place is honestly the cutest little country restaurant just tucked away which makes it even better but don’t let that fool you! They get great business because they were pretty full when we made it there around...
Read moreI love discovering restaurants off the beaten path and so that's what lead me here. First, why four stars and not five? They didn't have the redneck egg rolls which I heard were really good. Of no fault to the restaurant might I add. So let's review the food. Ribs are good, brisket is better and the sliced pork I'll put it below the ribs. I prefer pulled pork to sliced. Let's get to the good stuff, and what most guys want for father's day weekend or any day of the week, steak! So they have what's called the John Wayne ribeye. 16oz. Mouthwatering.....wait not available until after 4pm? It's 2pm but thankfully the cook said you might have to wait 20 mins but they could do it. Dang I would have waited an hour for it after just one bite. Delicious, definitely mouthwatering, and a great steak! The waitress was honest and brought it out and said it looks a lil pink on outside and asked me to cut into it and check it out. It had to be taken back for just a few minutes. I appreciate the honesty and the cook having patience and not coming to say anything. I actually tipped the cook and the waitress. I think the cook gets overlooked and deserves more praise sometimes and this is one of those times and one of those restaurants. Now let's finish the review off nice and sweet with banana pudding. Now most restaurants have banana flavored pudding which I really wish they would put on the menu in bold print. If it's imitation let me know. This was most definitely not imitation as it had actual bananas in it, moist pudding, and whip cream to top it off. Might I make a recommendation? Have two different size to go cups and sale that banana pudding. Ask most customers if they want desert and they'll tell you their full. How about a cup to go?And maybe they'll be more obliged to buy one. Dang sure wish I had gotten one to go now. Can't wait till y'all get the redneck egg rolls and email me if y'all do and if they're good, like everything else was that I tried, and I'll bump that four star review up to a perfect 5!!!!...
Read moreSo delicious. I am not big on BBQ. But. So 😊 good. Even being short staffed. Friendly service, very warm. I ordered the 3 meat platter. My choices were Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs and Smoked Pork. Picked up a rib. The meat fell off the bone. Bone in hand. All the meat, melt in your mouth. Beyond tender. The sauce on the table. Red BBQ sweet and slight smoky. And Carolina mustard sweet and tangy. I forgot to buy the BBQ sauce. So, next time i go to Interlachen... Definitely going back. My plate also included to sides and garlic toast or cornbread. Yummy for your tummy!!! ❤️ My daughter got the Swai Fried Fish plate. And boyfriend ordered a T-bone. Also ordered Brisket Grilled Cheese. So impressed with their rendition of a simple sandwich. We also ordered two kids meals and they were eaten right up and enjoyed nothing was wasted. Years ago it wasn't worth it. But you can tell its a different owner now. Bravo! Jan. 28, 2023 My husband's first time we went there for lunch. I had the Prime Rib sandwich with grilled onions and melted cheese on top. Prime rib was shaved and cooked well. Instead of being a little pink. More like a steak-em. But a better cut. Very good flavor though and tender. With of course mac and cheese. Husband ordered Chicken Teriyaki with grilled peppers and melted cheese on top and coleslaw. He was impressed. We left very full. He also really liked that he could order a beer with his meal. We will be back! I forgot to BUY the RED BBQ SAUCE!! Also, on the counter they sell for $3.99 Harmon's chocolate. Its a must try. I got the Bourbon Pecan Pie. A...
