Overboard Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Inver Grove Heights

Arrived there at 11:00 am on Wednesday - website changed to "open" at that time. Was told during winter it opens at noon. So we went out for a drive and came back five minutes before noon. Saw the man carrying out four bags filled with food in styrfoams to his car trunk - making a food delivery, we assumed. He told us he'd be back in five minutes. My friend and I went, really can he do that to us? Keeping us at bay until noon. We would appreciate if he told us the real reason so we could go to a different restaurant. Too bad we had to wait an hour AND 20 minutes later to eat at different restaurant.

12/16: In response to the owner: the note he wrote to me said winter hours is at 12 noon and opens on Wednesday to Sunday. Nothing mentioned about the delivery. From the whole perspective we were deliberately kept away until 12 noon. Period. Once we found out the delivery was the reason behind the front cover, we left to go to another restaurant. We have always enjoyed our meals here. We waited 40 minutes to even be acknowledged by a waitress, and another 15 before we could order a drink. I ordered a gin and tonic, but it came as just simple ice water, and when I sent it back, it then came as Sprite. No alcohol whatsoever. We ordered our favorite Chix/bacon/ranch flatbread, which came as a simple Chix/ranch round pizza with one small fleck of bacon- tasted like frozen pizza. I am all in support of patience after COVID staffing/supply chain issues and all, but if you can’t do better, then don’t claim to have service as a restaurant. This was a two hour long waste of my Friday evening. Went for a paint & sip party but went a little earlier that way we could have a few drinks and lunch beforehand. Great food: she ordered a burger & fries, I got a chicken sandwich & onion rings & we split homemade egg rolls - sooooo good! We saw they also carry heggies pizza (always a win in my book).
