Dear Sirs, I'm very disgusted with this store called Rabideaux's Sausage Kitchen in Iowa, LA and specially this Lady name Vera. What happened was we were on a Casino Bus Tour returning from Coushatta back to Houston and with the recommendation of our bus driver and a few passengers that have patronized this establishment before, we were excited to stop by for some authentic cracklins and boudin. We were not aware of any rules or regulations requiring buses to call ahead to let the restaurant know of our arrival. So as we arrived and proceeded to enter the establishment, one of the employees named Vera began yelling at us that without calling to let them know we we coming, they were not going to assist us! She was RUDELY YELLING AND TOLD US " IF YOU ARE ON THE BUS GET BACK ON IT. NO SERVICE FOR YOU ALL" I understand the store has rules and regulations about bus loads arriving with out notice But, to be yelled at the way this woman yelled at us is very uncalled for. There is a right way and a wrong way to treat people and we were told very rudely TO GET BACK ON THE BUS NO SERVICE. AND FURTHERMORE if we knew we had to call before arriving on a bus, we would of done it. We will certainly advise several other of our friends and family that happen to do casino charters to Coushatta that they should bypass your location as it seemed to us you don't really need the business. In the past we have stopped at at Herbert's and that is where our driver courteously returned this evening and the accepted us very kindly! It is sad that you have a person working in your establishment that so is so intent on refusing to serve customers and turn away what we perceive would have been a nice end to your daily intake. We've learned our lesson and will gladly bypass your store next time. We hope perhaps Vera may learn a lesson from this as well but I'm not quite sure it will make a difference to...
Read moreMy husband and I read the reviews and decided to give Ribedeaux's a try.
We ordered the Boudin balls, catfish, fried Porkchop, deep-fried Kabob, and deep-fried corn on the Cob. Let me start off by saying, "OMG!!" Their food is AMAZING!! The Boudin balls were spiced just enough to give them a little kick. The catfish was simply "to die for." It was crispy but not overdone. The fish itself was flaky and had a mild taste. Their fried Porkchop . was deep fried with a light crispy batter that kept the chop moist, juicy, and very tender. It was very tasty. Our deep-fried kabob consisted of chicken, sliced bell pepper and onion, and sausage. It, too, had the same batter coating as the chop. The Kabob was delicious, and the chicken and sausage were nicely spiced. We'd never eaten deep-fried corn on the Cob. It, too, had that wonderful crispy batter coating. The kernels weren't hard but tender and very juicy. They gave you generous portions. My husband and I ordered 1 of everything and still brought home enough for dinner for the 2 of us. The ladies behind the counter were very sweet and were patient since this was our 1st time ordering. Their dining room was quaint with enough tables to seat about 30 people. When you are in the area, do yourself a favor. Stop at Ribedeaux's. The food is...
Read moreUnfortunately, I cannot give this place a good review based on the manager, Vera (older lady on March 16, 2019 5:15pm) telling a bus load of people "If you're on the bus get back on it" She didn't want to serve over 40 people. None of us were buying prepared food, other than the cracklins. We were purchasing the food that was prepackaged based on recommendations we were given. She wanted us to leave because we didn't call ahead of time to let them know we were coming I understand it's their policy, however her delivery was Super Harsh. Our cashier and a couple of other employees cringed when she yelled at all of us to get back on the bus and they were apologizing. Who turns that many customers away? And if you're thinking they were super busy and that's why she turned us away, no they weren't, besides us there was probably 10 people total sitting in the restaurant and waiting in line. Pretty sure the owners of Rabideaux's will not be happy knowing so many people who were spending at least $60 per person were turned away. I hate giving a bad review especially when it's because of an employee. A few of us managed to make a purchase and I'm happy to end on a good note and say the...
