Wooden Nickel has a secret seasoning that they throw on there burgers.... this seasoning is what makes a burger have the ultimate taste...... I have been here numerous times throuhout the years... I always recommend this place to anyone that is driving near here.... excellent... excellent...

they have the best bacon cheese burger ever... (don't get pepper jack cheese on yours... I love pepper jack cheese on a bacon cheeseburger... but it distorts the seasoning that they put on the burger... words of wisdom... ) I always do provolone...

and have a nice cold Pick Axe on...

Stopped by after a long day on the trails in U.P. Michigan. Had a long exhausting day after a breakdown on the trail. This place was a sight for sore eyes as I hadn't seen civilization for quite some time. They were super friendly and gave me some advice on where to go next for some gas as we running low. Had a drink and bought a cool T-shirt as we were there. Will definitely be back again. I even had to make an emergency phone call because we had no cell service, the bartender was super nice and let me use her cellphone for a few minutes....

A diamond in the rough.. one of those spots you'd drive right by if you didn't know. Sandwiches are terrific.. open flame broiler is the cat's ( * ) ! Friendly crew, small interior, but a nice outdoor area. It's almost always got a crowd.. cars parked on the road some days.. dont be in a hurry,, and be patient with the server and getting your food order. Talk to your neighbor because there's NO internet and I love that! A room full of folks staring at their phones won't...
