We enjoyed our visit to Dano's. The food was fresh and the service was friendly! We had pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks, and fried mushrooms... oh, and fries! Those fries were so good!!
So the pizza was delicious. Had plenty of toppings. We had a meat lovers and it did not disappoint.
Oh, we had a steak n cheese sub, too. It was just right. I ordered the 6 in and it was filled with good steak & melty cheese - I added mushrooms and sweet peppers 😋. I tried to get a good picture (after I'd been munching on it 😂) to show you the inside, but the pic really doesn't do it justice. I'd asked our server about the bread before ordering, and the bread was literally perfect. It had the slightest toast which gave it wonderful texture while maintaning the soft freshness throughout. (She told me you can order your bread anyway you like, so if you're more of a toasted bread person, let them know.)
The wings were really good too. Good sauce flavor (we had hot) and they gave us more sauce upon request. The wings were cooked well, creating a tender bite with just the right snap.
The mozzarella sticks had crazy cheese pull! And the marinara that came with was a good accompaniment. Finally, the fried mushrooms were run of the mill, but again, fresh and served with a great attitude.
The owner made rounds to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. That was thoughtful and welcome.
We would definitely go back again.
(Don't judge these pics; we started eating before I thought...
Read moreI have been a patron of Dano's for many years. It used to be that the food was always good, not outstanding, but always better than just OK. Over the last couple of years, the quality has become very inconsistent. Always good has become sometimes good, or merely ok and yet, very occasionally, sometimes excellent. I never know what I'm going to get. Frankly, merely ok has become the norm. Why write this review now? Because this past Tuesday (May 26) I wanted pizza and picked up a Deluxe. It was not excellent, not good, not even ok. It was terrible. Dano's has become known for being miserly with the toppings, they outdid themselves. Maybe half the cheese, and less than the usual thin layer of the other items. It was incredibly dry and intensely salty and now ranks in the top ten of the worst pizzas I've ever had. I used to like Dano's, enjoyed going there (pre-virus), but now the atmosphere is different; a lot of very stressed, grumpy people and food that's not nearly as good as it used to be. I'll never say never, but it will be a very long time before I spend any money...
Read moreThe food was great, service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was the perfect quick lunch stop. We had the Italian sausage sub with fries and the Italian deli sandwich with pasta salad. All items were delicious and we especially like that the fries weren't crinkle cut and just the right thickness, freshly made and cooked to perfection. Lunch prices were good for the portions you get. The fresh cake slices were irresistible and very reasonably priced as well. We would highly recommend this place for lunch. The place was busy, indicating good food, but not so busy that you had to wait long for your food. We will definitely be back next time we're up in the area of...
