Los Compadres Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Irvington

I worked for them before I had to leave for college. I’ve never worked with such wonderful people. I enjoyed working for them and with them. The Main Manager Fernando was such an amazing person he has a huge respect for his workers always helped everyone. I’m really thankful I met people like them everyone was really nice such a great experience everyone helps amongst them I had trouble my first week because I was new some rude clients trying to say I was in the wrong about there orders for them not wanting to pay or with how the food wasn’t made as they seen on the internet everyone makes there food differently but this is a Mexican restaurant we prepare our dishes differently from others Hispanic Places.. Really amazing food. Also be nice to the waitresses being a waitress is not easy it can be really stressful for us. But we always tried our best making our clients happy at los compadres mexican grill:) But indeed recommended this place very calm and friendly. Such an amazing experience working with everyone there I’ll definitely come back and work with them when I’m done...

I must say that this fine little place is in need of some better communication with take out orders and its my advice to check your orders for correctness before you leave. I'm not sure if its a language barrier or lack of interest but its definitely. an issue. the food was fresh and could have been very enjoyable if it was what and how we ordered. We think it was good enough to try again but. its our last chance. PLEASE slack off with the onions!!! We would love to give a better review but like the rest, you need to earn. it. I think it should be a really good place given a little more effort to improve the service and the attention to detail and maybe someone there who is able to take orders and relay them properly. We dined in there before and it was really great when they first opened and this time we ordered out and got the wrong meat the wrong food pretty much and the excess of the onions and peppers is just ridiculous the food could be very good if they tension to the details was better I really would like to give this a better review but right now...

Would have given it 5 stars, but we had a few mishaps. The first waiter dropped our drinks on the floor and on us, he was very polite and cleaned everything up, felt really bad for him though. We were moved to another table and given a new waitress. She was very polite got our orders correct, but when coming back to ask how everything was, she never asked if we needed any refills for our drinks. It was super loud in there, very small seating area. There was a man that sat us and made sure we were moved to the other table, I guess he was the manager, but he seemed disinterested in everything that was going on. Lastly, the cook gets 5 stars in my book, the food was excellent, the 2 special drinks we ordered were great as well. I would probably come back again, but not on a Saturday night, again too much noise, we couldn’t hear our own conversation...
