I went here with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals, fantastic omelets with hash browns and toast for me, hash browns and pancakes for him. He got a Denver omelet and was bummed to hear they were out of mushrooms he wanted to add. That didn't stop him from enjoying his otherwise delicious meal. He commented on the cheddar cheese which had an unusually strong flavor, but in the best way. I did the create your own omelet with sausage, American cheese, tomatoes, onion and green peppers. I couldn't have asked for a better omelet, with the perfect mix of ingredients, as well as the right amount of hash browns and toast. I like a little of everything in each forkful and that was no problem with this meal. Both omelets were fluffy and big, causing my friend to ask if the cook was using ostrich eggs. He wasn't, they were just big eggs bought down the road. The place is cozy, with no more than a dozen tables. We loved the paintings by local artists adorning the walls, as well as clever signs. The ambience is both cheerful and thought provoking, with a picture set that brought to mind the world tree and another painting with the word "gratitude" deconstructed - very cool! We especially liked the door at the back leading to a sink and possibly food prep. It was the door from an old bank vault, something that always intrigues me. We'll surely be back, probably to try something off the lunch menu despite how much we enjoy breakfast at 2pm. Ok, decent chance I'll get a breakfast skillet next time, but I'd like to think I'll try a wrap.

We stopped in while traveling from up north and were really disappointed with the experience. First off, the prices are outrageous. $38 for one chicken tender meal and an omelette is extremely unreasonable, especially considering the food was average. It’s a cash-only establishment with zero signs indicating that anywhere nothing on the door, the menu, or inside the restaurant. At the end the waiter casually told me I could Venmo or Cash App them, which I did not feel comfortable with. He said there was an ATM across the street so I ended up walking across the street to a gas station to use an ATM and paid $6.50 just to get cash out to cover the bill. Cleanliness was also a major issue. The salt and pepper shakers were so grimy and sticky not just at our table, but all of them. The ketchup bottle was also sticky and had dirt or some kind of buildup on it. I’ve worked in the service industry for many years, including breakfast spots and never leave less than 20% and typically more but after the experience, the cleanliness and the inconvenience of not being notified ahead of time that it was cash-only I only left 10%. If you go online, it does say cash only now that I’ve looked up this place to write a review, but we were passing through and not looking on our phones for a restaurant Honestly, the whole experience felt shady and poorly managed. Hopefully this review, along with others, they make signage for cash-only and work on their cleanliness and hospitality. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

When you have almost as many reviews as the entire town has population, then you must be doing something right. At 59 years old I’ve done one restaurant review in my entire life, but I have to say something about this place. I wish there was a higher star ranking that I could give, Like maybe 10.I can’t say enough about the quality of the food, the staff, and the atmosphere. To find such an amazing venue amidst the woods and fields of central Michigan absolutely astounds me. I can literally spend nine or $10 on some of the best food I’ve ever tasted, and get portion sizes that necessitate Getting a takeout box and having a great meal that last me all day long. I don’t know how Megan and Chris do it, but I sure hope they continue to do so for a long long time. Oh yes, speaking of Megan ( Little mama Bair), what a gem! A new mommy with a smile that absolutely lights up the room. I don’t believe I’ve been in here yet when she’s not smiling. How she manages to take care of an infant, manage a home, teach art classes, and run the best restaurant for miles around simply escapes me. Megan, you are awesome sweetie! I wish ya’ll the greatest success for many years to come. Continue to march! Oh yeah, by the way they’ll soon be bringing dinner hours...
