I just can't say enough good things about this place. It is destined to become a Landmark! Locals probably already consider it to be one. I started out buying from them when they sold out of their trailer that they used at competitions. They had a schedule of every other weekend or something like that. It was hard to remember and sometimes I was lucky enough to drive through at the right time. My family's reactions when I would bring home an arm load of their delicious selections proved to me I wasn't infatuated. It was a dream come true when they opened the restaurant, for loyal Patrons as was well as the owners! Ribs, Brisket and Pulled Pork are all staples for my family. We have had the all you can eat Fried chicken and it was also delicious. I had not had the pleasure of the Ribeye dinner until now. It seemed difficult to get there on Thursday. That's the special for Thursday. Steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them. Seasoned perfectly. My wife ordered her steak well done (a sin in my book), but her steak was cooked well and not dried out. I think getting there on Thursday night just got a whole lot easier! Pies are also delicious. I feel like I am writing a book. One thing is for sure, "Smoked To The Bone" has wrote the book on Delicious food...
Read moreThis is a cool little place with a nice open concept. The place looked super clean and the menu is on a huge chalkboard over head. Super easy to read and understand (with prices!)
We were first time visitors, there to celebrate my parents birthday. Everyone ordered something different and there were no complaints about food quality. There is a nice salad bar next to the self serve drink counter. Fresh quality and good variety of vegetables, meats, and dressing.
The only downfall to our visit was the woman taking the orders. I thought she was rude and lacked any customer service skills. I didn’t say anything because I thought maybe I am overreacting. Then my mother says, geez she was terrible, how was she to you? The staff working the lobby and clearing tables were super friendly and the staff cooking behind the front counter greeted you with smiles. It really seemed like one bad apple in the bunch. All in all we’d go again. Great food, neat atmosphere, and mostly...
Read moreReally good BBQ. For those in the Southern Illinois area that have been to Pappy's or Sugar Fire in St. Louis, this is better than both of those joints hands down. Juicy and tender, but not greasy, pulled pork. Tender and moist brisket with a great smoke ring that almost falls apart. Sausage is a little spicy but really a nice taste. The ribs are beef ribs, generally not a fan but these were real good and pretty tender for a beef rib. Like I said, not a fan of ANY beef ribs but these were the best I have had anywere. My wife and I had baked beans and mac-n-cheese for our sides. Again, really good with great garlic bread that had a nice crisp crust with a soft interior. Last thing. I don't write reviews ever good or bad. This place is good enough to make me write a review. The only BBQ I have had that is better is Hard Eight BBQ in Roanoke, TX. That place is amazing, everything they make is out of this world deliciious, (except their pinto beans, they are...
