Bennys — Restaurant in Jackson Township

We were staying at Kalahari Resort in the Poconos and we were looking for a place to get pizza. After searching google maps, we found Benny's. It was a about a 20 minute drive, and the reviews were good, so we took a chance on driving a little further. It was well worth the drive. We ordered a cheese pizza, a taco pizza, fries, and Chicken Marsala. The pizzas had amazing flavor, the fries were good, and the Chicken Marsala was excellent. The pizza crust was great, and the edge of the pizza was just right, not to thick, not thin, and it wasn't dried out like a lot of pizzas. We are from South Central PA, we have plenty of pizza restaurants in the area, but none of their pizzas compare to Benny's. The staff was very friendly. It's a little off the beaten path, but worth the drive. The outside of building could use a refresh, which makes you wonder, but the inside is very nice and looks like it was updated recently. I've had absotnothing but wonderful experiences here at Benny's. Every time I've come here I've been treated with such amazing hospitality! The staff is great! They are always friendly and their customer service is wonderful! The owner is an absolute gem of a human being. He is incredibly kind and accommodating. One time my order wasn't made, due to some confusion and work being done in the store, he immediately jumped right up and made my pizza in record time. I had a perfect pie in less than ten minutes! He was so apologetic, which he didn't need to be. I really enjoy my pizza Fridays and always being greeted by friendly staff. That's rare to find out here. Not only are the staff amazing, the food is delicious. And I'm from Jersey, so we know our pizza/Italian cuisine! It is tough to find decent Italian food out here, but Benny's has it. Went here to pick up food to celebrate a family member’s birthday based on the high ratings. Wrong! Had to apologize over and over again to the family member. No one wanted to save their leftovers so we threw it all away. A waste of time, money, and effort. Obviously, we’ve had much better … real Italian pizza masterfully cooked by long standing family run restaurant on the east coast. Never heard of soggy crust where the toppings literally run off the limp crust. Even the salad lacked flavor as well as the fully loaded nachos. So hard to find a decent restaurant in the area. Even cooked one of our pizzas wrong and had to go back for a new one. The person who took the order also prepared the pizza. At least he apologized.

We’ve only found 2 decent restaurants, both in Stroudsburg … a Thai restaurant near Monroe County courthouse, and a Mediterranean restaurant for their gyros around the corner from the Thai restaurant.
