Americana Kitchen & Grille — Restaurant in Jackson

Ordered a salmon steak, fried cabbage and onion rings. Everything was great, the food was done just right and tasted incredible. The staff was very friendly, the place was very tastefully decorated with an American theme. Beside the food being great, the restaurant was very clean, a huge plus.

The theme is Americana, there are American themed murals including the statue of liberty. One of the unique art items was behind the cash register. they had actually framed up a section of the wall and made it stick out from the wall and sideways to stand out in order to put two of the murals on it; one on each side.

Another bit of trivia the offering 11%, not 10%, but 11% discount for military and first responders. Something I very much appreciate.

I heard from a friend the food was good. The pics on website seemed hit or miss so I gave it a try. It was some of the worst. Food I've ever had....anywhere. The. Mac and cheese is dry, greasy, and rubbery. Not to mention the over browned bits. The potatoes are very bland. The cornbread is good. The meatloaf is covered in a spicy bbq sauce. The second plate... The lunch special .....the pork chop was fresh, fried, and good. The spaghetti was full of. Dried out noodles that were exposed to the air and heat lamp so long they tasted crispy. I really wanted to like this place...... There is a podium up front that looks like someone vomited on it and the floor just in front of it....pink and splattered. This should of been a warning..... They really need to make...

I have eaten at Americana several times before, but had not posted a review until now. The fried green tomatoes and the mozzarella sticks have both been great appetizers. The cheeseburger, catfish fillets, and grilled chicken have been delicious entrees for me. The fries, onion rings, turnip greens, and white beans have been enjoyable sides. The server was pleasant and attentive. I appreciated having my sweet tea refilled several times. Others that have gone with me multiple times have commented on how nice...
