You here about these bbq places or even watched episodes on YouTube about bbq places from state to state but mainly in the south...this recipe vs that recipe...this wood vs that wood, etc. I'm from California and I love bbq and I've always wanted to try bbq from the south. My current job has me traveling the country overseeing (superintendent) construction projects. The last three months I was in Tennessee so I tried some brisket and it was fire!!!! I didnt try the ribs because the brisket was so good I ddint want to ruin it. So now I'm here in Mississippi for the next 3 months, it's my second day here and when I woke up this morning and googled bbq, I had three main choices and I picked E&L. Simple menu, simple layout of the restaurant and its away from busy streets, on way in and one way out, great prices. This place must be popular because there was a line when I got there and there was a line forming when i was still in the middle of the line. The proficiency of this 4 team crew was beyond amazing, lights out great job!!! The food: ordered a full rack and two banana puddings. The first bite was amazing, my mouth was singing songs of love, warmth, smoky bones and more. I ate half and the other half will be for later😇, oh ya, the other banana pudding will be excellent later after I eat the ribs or maybe I'll eat the banana bread first. In any case, I can say that i fulfilled my fantasies with Southern BBQ...Jackson, Mississipp representing BBQ 110%...thank you to the family of E&L who have continued the path that Eddie and Lula have paved for you guys...every time I see a old Cadillac now, I'll think of Eddie and bbq...best of wishes
