Martin's Fish House — Restaurant in Jackson

Bad Customer Service! First time visiting as I was sent here by my boss to order food for our dental staff. I sashayed into the business with my lime green Gaddis Family Dentistry shirt ready to eat some seafood!

I proceeded to order 3 Catfish plates, 1 Shrimp plate, 1 Ocean Perch plate & a Large order of Fried Green Tomatoes. This came up to almost $90.00

Everything ALMOST came out correctly -EXCEPT there was no SHRIMP to be found! 😳 After waiting 30 minutes for our food, We expected everything to be perfect

I took the plate marked shrimp back inside to show that there was fish in there instead. To save time I offered to just keep the plate and take the difference in money between a fish plate and shrimp plate which was $4.09, but they were adamant about fixing the order by giving us the shrimp that we ordered. I initially tried to give the cashier back the $4.09 but was told to keep it.

As I was waiting on the shrimp a lady came out of the back(possibly the owner) & told me nastily that I need To give the $4.09 back.

I told her that was not a problem & the only reason I kept it was because the cashier told me to.

She also insinuated that we did in fact get the shrimp and replaced it with the fish. I was shocked.

Didn’t even get a chance to taste the food yet but the customer service left a horrible taste...

Found this place while driving one day. The beautiful vintage sign caught my attention! I love vintage signs and i love fish houses and i think this is perfect timing! So i wasted no time and tried this place. My work has allowed me to be all over Mississippi, small town and big town, i always try the local fish houses and i have tried quite many. But Wow, i can say that this is definitely in my Top 5 list! I mean, most places only have catfish or catfish and pan trout. But Martin's they have them both plus Buffalo and ocean perch! And their fish is done best, juicy and not over cooked with just the right amount of breading not to alter the flavor of the fish, good crunch and crispiness and almost no trace of grease! Very nice subtle flavor and delicious. Portions are more than enough and right on the dollar! The place is homey and the staff are good people! ti have been a faithful customer of martin's fish house for years until today. Today, i had 3 orders. the food was hot. all 3 orders were placed in one plastic bag. the food was so hot, that when i got home and was getting out of my vehicle, the plastic bag separated from the handle. all of my fish hit the concrete. i called martin and told him about my experience, and asked him to replace my order because it was no fault of mine that the bag broke, and he said that had it fell in the store, he would replace it, but since i had gotten out of the store, he would not replace it; i even told him that i could bring all of the fish, of which, not one piece was eaten, and the bag as evidence of what happened, and he still said no. I will NEVER patronize his place of business again; i just lost $34 on what was suppose to be a family meal that i didn't even get a chance to sample. what...
