Pighouse BBQ — Restaurant in Jackson

I hate to say this as my wife loved this place when she was a kid, however, after trying it today, sadly, I have to say it was the worst BBQ place I've ever experienced, anywhere, and I've been to hundreds. My wife ordered the BBQ plate with coleslaw and potato salad. The BBQ had no flavor and was cold and dry. The coleslaw was chopped cabbage with a little vinegar mixed in. The potato salad was bland and flavorless. There were baked beans also, but tasted like plain canned pork and beans. I orded the chicken plate with slaw and FRIES. I was told that if I ordered fries it would have to be both sides for some reason. We drove off after getting order. Chicken was completely dried out and not edible! Fries were cold and had obviously been cooked hours before. I expected so much more, but was completely disappointed. I gave the chicken to my dog and everything is else for thrown away. If you are smart, you will avoid this place and go to any other BBQ place in Jackson. I guarantee it has to be better...

For those that are not from the area, this is a drive through not a dine in. We were passing through read the reviews deciding to stop and try the BBQ. We were not let led a'stray. Excellent BBQ - I had the nacho's loaded with pork, cheese, sour cream, jalapeños and corn chips, my husband had a pulled pork sandwich. The BBQ sauce was spicy and tangy paired perfectly with the pulled pork. We also tried a fried apple pie, I have had better fried pies but it was still good. The employees were very nice, helpful with a great sense of humor. (Note if you are traveling with pets, there was a sign in the window that they sale...

Love some pig house bbq. Delicious. We usually get the pig pack for family night and chow down. They got some good sweet tea. If you aren't sure if you'll like it, they'll even let you try some first. They sell it in a gallon jug. These guys are great. Been here next to the Walgreens as long as I can remember. They are usually open all day during the week but if they run out they close early. We always try to get there in the early afternoon.
