Short & sweet version: The views from the gondola ride and the summit were stunning, but unfortunately, the service at the bistro fell far short of expectations. My recommendation? Grab something from the market and enjoy the scenery outdoors instead. Keep in mind that it can get windy and chilly in the evening, so dress accordingly.
Full explaination: We started our evening with a drink at the bar, where the bartenders were attentive, and the drinks were well-made. However, things took a downturn when we were seated for dinner. Thankfully, we had a table with a great view by the windows, which may have been the only redeeming factor of our experience.
After waiting an hour, our entrees arrived without the appetizers. The waiter admitted that he had forgotten to place the appetizer order. While mistakes happen, they failed to redeem themselves moving forward. When the apps finally arrived, the quail and beet tortellini were very tasty.
To add to the frustration, a table seated 45 minutes after us received their entrees before we got our appetizers, although they never got their drinks. Other diners around us started leaving due to the poor service.
We continued to wait for our entrees, during which time our drinks were not refilled and we were not checked on by thd waiter. When the entrees finally arrived, the strip steak was tough and disappointing, but the bison tenderloin was worth recommending.
To top it all off, our bill included charges for drinks we never received, and it took another 30+ minutes to complete the checkout process.
I appreciate the restaurant’s focus on supporting local farms and the incredible views, but when dining out, the overall service & experience is key. After spending $200 on a meal for two, we expected professional service, which was severely lacking. If a restaurant aims to be even slightly upscale, it needs to deliver on service. Charging premium prices for mediocre (at best) service, is...

We are Ikon pass enjoyers and were so excited for our 8 day ski trip to Jackson Hole and Big Sky this year! For our group of 6, it makes sense for us to eat breakfasts and some dinners at our condo but once in a while we need a break from Clif bars and water out of a Camelbak for lunch and this place takes the cake, literally!
One of our group members made a reservation (recommended) for 1:30p, perfect time to get a good ski day in beforehand and then enjoy a delicious leisurely lunch almost top of the mountain. Several of us had just finished skiing down from the top of the Rendezvous Bowl so we were famished to say the least.
We each enjoyed a refreshing cocktail or local beer, our server was pleasant and knowledgeable on the entire menu. I got the beet salad with shrimp (which were huge and perfectly cooked), my boyfriend got the burger, which he was really excited about because he loves meat AND because they had a gluten-free bun! Everyone gobbled up their lunches and we celebrated with two gluten-free chocolate brownie sundaes with local coffee ice cream on top. Nothing was left when the server returned with the check and we're all still talking about how much we loved that lunch experience!
And double bonus, the $$ prices were around the same of what you'd pay at many on-mountain cafeterias so it was a welcome change for...
Read moreA very strange experience here tonight. I messed up my reservation day and the hostess moved things around to accommodate - very kind of her.
Got the peach and ricotta starter which we had to send back because the peach was too hard to eat. Waitress took it off the bill - kind of her.
The steak and salmon mains were tasty, though small portions for ~$58 each.
After getting the check, paying cash, and letting our waitress know that we didn't need change (22% tip), we left. After we left the building another person on staff chased us out the door and asked if our waitress had got our check. I asked if he thought we left without paying. He said no but he wanted to confirm that we got our check. First of all - check with your waiter, with whom we had two conversations about the check. It's completely offensive and jarring to be ran after and accused of dining and dashing. And then a 15 minute gondola ride down the mountain stewing on it.
Piste - next time you're going to accuse someone of theft, maybe have your...
