Rama Pizza — Restaurant in Jackson

This is absolutely the new pizza place to watch in Jackson. I went during lunchtime with my grandfather, and we each got a personal pizza each. Both of ours were fantastic. The service was a bit slower than you'd get at a chain place, but nothing out of the ordinary for a pizza made from scratch.

For us, the crust was soft with crispy edges, the toppings and cheese tasted incredible, and the sauce tended tangy as opposed to sweet. My biggest mistake during our visit was ordering a plain one-topping pepperoni instead of trusting their specialty pizzas. It wasn't bad by any means. The specialty was just so incredibly better.

My grandfather got one of their specialty pizzas (we swapped a slice between each other), and that's really where their skill comes alive. The folks behind the counter have a great handle on the quality of their ingredients and how those flavors balance each other out and complement to make a really great pie.

The only fault I can give Rama is that their interior decor is sparse. It's a new place, and they seem to be pushing takeout as the preferred way to order from them, but if you're eating in, it can feel a bit bare.

Honestly though, if the biggest complaint you have about a new pizza place is the atmosphere, you're in for a good time. Order a specialty takeout pizza and judge...

It takes a lot for me to rate this low and this is purely from the friend's experience. She was about to be in tears. She ordered a cheese pizza from here, there was no sauce on it at all. She calls, let them know, they say they'll have a replacement ready in 15 mins, guy said he got it confused for cheesy bread...sure, understandable, annoying, but problem was fixed. Except problem wasn't fixed, the food wasn't ready(they also left food off another friend's order) and they didn't start making until they got there. The issue arose again when the second "cheese pizza" came and it didn't have sauce on it as well. Guy swore he made the pizza himself and it had sauce on it...it did not. So she came back defeated, angry, and hungry because she didn't want cheesy bread pizza. My guy do better. Customers aren't perfect but telling them something that's untrue is not the way. Go the extra mile, show them the dough with the pizza sauce on it...you know what put too much sauce on it, it's annoying having someone check your work but you know what's more annoying, getting the order wrong twice and...

I should have known when the parking lot was empty. Ordered Philly and wings. Didn't have boneless so got bone in. Guy who took my order (owner or manager I assume) Left, told me it would be 15 minutes, not a problem, waited about 20 minutes went to counter and asked the employee if that was my order sitting on the shelf, he rudely said "probably " said "I just got here" he's been there at least 10 minutes... Worst food I have ever been presented. Wings look like there a week old, sandwich not cooked fully.

What a shame because I have been looking forward to eating at this establishment.

Needless to say they will never get another dime from me.
