Shuckers Seafood and Oyster Bar — Restaurant in Jackson

We ate here last night, 8/17, my husband got boiled shrimp. Ridiculously priced. I know it's more to have them served to you already being peeled but still very small shrimp at $14lb. Is absurd. they were seasoned after they were cooked. And they tasted awful. Too much seasoning. You're supposed to season the water you boil them in. He ended up have to go throw up while we were there. It was so bad.

I got the crab legs. Which I was so excited about. For the price of 5 clusters for $45. Now that's a good price. They tasted good and were cooked perfectly. But they were aslo seasoned after being cooked. I got sick when we got home.

We also got the voodoo rolls for our appetizer and they are usually good but this time they were extremely overcooked.

My grandparents went a couple weeks ago and they got differnt food but the same experience. They stayed sick for a couple days.

At this point it seems like shuckers should...

Shuckers Seafood & Oyster Bar - don’t know how they are still open, the building might as well be vacant. Horrendous service, subpar food. Seafood is definitely not their strong point and they aren’t fit to cook it much less serve it. This is not a one time occurrence- this comes after several attempts since March 2022. Service is only bearable when the owner is present (some people don’t want to be bothered to actually work and it shows).The food- either burnt, over cooked, falling apart or chewy like rubber. I wish them the best. Hopefully they will get things in order 🥴 and if you visit, don’t sit near the restrooms, you’ll smell it. I would leave an review on their Facebook page however it seems they remove reviews that happen to be negative.

Great food - when you finally get it, but not nearly enough of it.

Wait was nearly one full hour, and we left VERY hungry due to the pitifully small portion sizes and went to the local Dairy Queen to finish eating. It is extremely loud and crowded inside with under-sized tables crowded too closely together and everyone shouting in an attempt to be heard. (Seems like a fire would be a major disaster.) Waitresses are quite friendly, attentive, & provide the best service that they can under the circumstances and deserve a LOT better support from senior staff.

PS: We decided to try "SHUCKERS" to get raw oysters, but we were told that raw oysters were not available at the time because there was no shucker on...
