West Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Jackson

Stayed for the Mississippi Blues Half Marathon and this was close to the start/finish line. Hotel had easy check in process and helpful staff. Valet was $20 a night. Hotel room was well lit and had exceedingly comfortable bed. One issue was instead of a fridge which is more and more becoming common, they had a mini bar. IMO, this isn’t a helpful amenity and often the items are absurdly priced. I would much rather have a fridge. The bathroom was nice with a good shower. Check out was at noon. Hotel location was well located to get to the Art Museum and the state capitol. West Restaurant and lounge is the type of place you want to go if you want to experience a true Mississippi honest to goodness hole in the wall club. Its not the worst place ever but definitely not the best. The food offerings are decent. The customer service is nothing necessarily to complain about on a good night. Pricing is okay too. But it feels as if some guy opened a place started pulling in a crowd and said well this is cool ill keep doing the same thing keep the same crowd never reinvent and definitely never remodel.
