It is St. Patrick's Day, they're offering Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage and live music, so we go with a couple of friends, all eager to enjoy the evening. The place was packed already at 5:30. A singer/guitarist came on about 6 and was loud, but not bad. I was disappointed as we had all been looking forward to some foot-stomping celtic music. I enjoyed a delicious veggie burger, but my meat-eating companions did not fare as well. The corned beef plate was typical American-Irish bland and tasteless, according to our friend. Two of our party ordered the Irish lamb stew and were served a small dish of greasy liquid that had few vegetables and less lamb. The kitchen should have been embarassed. At least there was Guiness. The ambiance was lively and friendly as always, which makes up for quite a bit. In spite of seemingly few staff, customers seemed content to wait in long lines for both food and drink.Perhaps management was not expecting such a turn-out. We like to support this local establishment and want to see them become a thriving community gathering place; we will definitely be back there soon. But really, if you want to be taken seriously, you need do do...
Read moreThis was the first time I actually went in to get my food from the taproom, and it was quite a pleasant experience. Their turkey BLT was 12 bucks, and adding onion rings only costed 1 dollar extra. Including tax it came out 14 dollars. For what was the best BLT I've had locally, not a bad price :) The atmosphere is very comfy, and you have a nice view of the mountain. I've heard it gets busy later at night, but on this Saturday afternoon, it wasn't extremely busy. The employees were polite and accommodating, which is always a plus. I might also add that if you'd rather not eat in, you can place an order for pickup by calling in. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to other people. It's perfect for if you just finished playing a round of golf or climbing...
Read moreThe atmosphere is really good but you lost me in a few critical areas. The burger was soggy, about half of it which was soaking wet. The service was relatively poor, as you are expected to take care of your own dishes, which I did not know before tipping. Why tip when you serve yourself?
I noticed a sign that said all left-open tabs automatically have an 18% tip placed. I feel like that's illegal and just sketchy in general. You should be paying your employees a living wage, not relying on people who forget to close their tabs to help you pay your employees so you can buy more sports cars.
The food also gave me food poisoning. I'm sure of this because my last meal before was some homemade oatmeal about 7 hours before I ate here, with a...
